5 second timer between pitches seems a bit excessive. Also not everyone wants to sit there and take over an hour for a game so try to understand why people try not to take long between pitches? You can't ask people to try and understand your side without extending the same courtesy
Then live with R2 holding. I’m not going to let someone throw 10 pitches in 3 seconds like it’s a machine gun. If you don’t want a timer, R2 is the best way to make both sides happy.
What exactly is wrong with a pitcher working quickly and how is that anything but a good thing? I use R2 a bit because there’s some useful info there, but once you’ve gathered that info, let’s play the [censored] game. It’s not like you’re a real hitter in an actual MLB game. What are you possibly doing with that extra time when you’re holding R2?
Exactly and in a real game the pitcher does not have to wait for a hitter to be ready. They can quick pitch all the want as long as the batter is in the box and ump is ready.
Then allow me to stand outside the batter box like in real life.
press down on the pad it calls timeout like in real life
Give me the ability to do it with every pitch just like you have the ability to quick pitch with every pitch.

some of these losers that could never imagine actually playing baseball need to make it feel like the real thing bc that's the closest they'll ever get.

For years I have lobbied for removal of the R2 feature, or at the very least, allow us to step off the rubber every time R2 is pressed. But......to no avail. I hope all R2 users jock straps become infested with South American Fire Ants!!!!
I have never had an issue stepping of the rubber when someone holds R2. As soon as I see that symbol in this years game of R2 being held I step off. Then my opponent will pause if they can not hold R2. I think SDS need to change how long R2 can be held.
But not do anything toward how fast someone can pitch? Just curious, you know that is the other sides arguement so why not address both? See why people keep arguing? You change one you should change other, if everybody wants it fair then by god make it fair across the board.
Do you want the pitcher to balks back in the game and have it where pitchers have to come set with runners on base. If no runners are on base, pitcher can pitch when ready. If you are not ready as a hitter then that is on you. No need to hold it every pitch to be ready to hit. I second or two ok but for 10 seconds every pitch is crazy, Once I select my pitch and set my location I am pitching. That takes a second to do. A hitter should be ready. If someone is spamming FB then I sit in that location. Sooner or Later the ball is flying over the fence. This year I been able to hit the High FB. I been hitting better this year then the past few years. It is still not great but I am winning more than I am losing. I think I am 32-24 in RS.
I don't agree with spamming R2 just to do it make sure i'm clear about that.
But if someone is quick pitching that is also an exploit whether people want to belive it or not.
My point is if the arguement is get rid of R2 then there is also a valid arguement to get rid of quick pitching.I think R2 is a good tool to see how opponent pitched you in previous at bats that is what I use it for. I think SDS should change how long someone can hold R2. They should not be able to hold R2 once I select my Pitch.
If you are not quick pitching i agree.
I have been quick pitched and I do not mind it but if I need to slow my opponents pitching down, No need to hold R2 the whole time. Do it for a second or two and not for 10 seconds every pitch in every at bat. I use meter so people who hold R2 thinking it will mess with my timing well it doesnt. Most of the time they are still not ready to hit cause once they release R2 my pitch is being pitched as they release. It is annoying and somewhat of an advantage for me.
You can’t hold R2 for ten seconds. It’s more like 3-4 seconds, I would know because I hold it the entire time for every at bat.
It is longer than 3 or 4 seconds.
Go time it with a stop watch, it’s not.
I do not need to. You keep holding R2 and I will keep stepping off the mound. Every time I see that sign of someone holding R2 I will step off and then you will pause every pitch and run out of time and I will win the game.
I have no problem with you stepping off the mound. I also will not press pause, doesn’t bother me. You are literally just giving me more time in between pitches, thank you for your support.
Right after i step off that pitch is coming or right after you release R2 you will not be ready cause I use meter and the pitch is released before you will be ready. keep holding R2 with the piece of [censored] directional hitting you use.
Thank you for your understanding and support, here’s looking at you kid.

You should already be ready to hit. When pitcher is ready to pitch that is the bottom line it is baseball, It is a video game. There is no need to hold R2 to the fullest time every pitch of the game. I am bad a hitting in this game but I am good enough this year to be above 500. You must be really bad at hitting if you have to hold R2 using directional. At least those who use analog explained why they do it. You have no excuse except you are not ready to hit.

when the batter in the box the pitcher controls the game. hence why with the potential pace of play rules the timer is on the pitcher, not the batter. The pitcher controls how fast or slow the game is

Do you watch baseball, The pitcher pitches when ump is ready, The batter has to call time and even if batter calls time the ump does not have to grant. The pitcher controls the tempo of the game.If the batter is in the box and not ready the pitcher can pitch the ball. the batter does not have to be ready for a pitcher to pitch.

So can you step off the rubber an unlimited amount of times now? Im 110% positive there used to be a limit of how many times a pitcher was allowed to step off the rubber. In regard to quick pitching, I have absolutely no problem with that. If I’m in the box and haven’t called time.....then it’s on me! What I don’t appreciate for example, is when my pitcher is up and my opponent knows I’m gonna pinch hit and they smash a button and don’t give me an opportunity to pinch hit. This really happens and it’s not cuz I’m slow. I’m also smashing the pause button to try and get my hitter in the game. In regard to using R2 to “see where I’m being pitched”? I’m a former WS player and consistently over 700. I’m not great but I’m not terrible. I have NEVER ONCE in 5 years of playing this game used R2 to see where I’m being pitched. If you don’t know where you’re being pitched just pack up and quit! Find another game.

It takes less than a second to look at pitch history from the previous at bat. Stepping off the mound with runners on base is only 3 times if they do not take the extra lead. I have not had any issues with stepping off the mound. The problem here is the players who hold R2 for the full amount of time they can on every pitch regardless of QP or not. I do not need to find another game and it is great that you have a mind that can remember exactly every pitch where you been pitched for every batter. Not all of us were blessed with a memory like that. I do not need to remember when it takes less than a second to quickly look buy pressing R2 not holding it down.
FYI I do not look at pitch history for every hitter every inning.
-
I cant believe we have someone advocating for holding R2, when they are using directional hitting. Seriously? You are pressing a single button. It's not like you have to even move a PCI that may be effected if you arent quite ready. Its literally pressing a button. Get out of here with the "I need 5 seconds between pitches" garbage.
