Only making progress if you choose the loadout that is currently activated?
-
I have 3 loadouts saved, SP-AL, SS, and DH. I have the SP-AL loadout activated in the main menu (before even going into RTTS).
Now while in RTTS, before each game I can choose which loadout to use, however it always shows the SP-AL loadout as activated (which I thought meant "the one designated for use in other aspects of the game", like DD for example.
Last night it seemed as if whenever I chose SP-AL (because in the lineup I was the starting pitcher that game) I would get xp and program progress. However, if the lineup had me playing at SS or as the DH, I would naturally choose the corresponding loadout (even though it still showed SP-AL as active during the selection screen) and play the game, I would only receive XP, but not program progress.
So I wonder if before a game if I were to back out to main menu, and then change my active loadout to SS for example and then go back into RTTS and choose that loadout before game, if I would then get progress as well??
Why do I have 3 loadouts?
During RTTS at the start, I told my agent I wanted to play for the American League. Once on the team I told my coach I wanted to play SP and SS as a secondary. So when they start me at pitcher, I don't bat at all. However on my off days they will either play me at SS, DH, or they will give me the day off. I like this setup and plan to use my ballplayer as a SP (who also bats) in DD, once I get him leveled up. -
Had a break for lunch played 3 RTTS games, first as DH, second was SS, 3rd was DH again. Set my position in main menu before game. When I picked the loadout, it said activated next to it... got zero progress in all 3 games.

You're running into two issues and conflating them, which isn't your fault at all. The first is that loadout don't switch. In that specific instance, when you were playing as SS or DH you weren't getting XP with those loadouts because your active one was still SP. Basically you were playing SS with SP as your stat booster. This is apparently a bug. I don't think this is working how they wanted (but I don't know anymore)The second issues is you've now run into the progression bug, so now you're just not making progress regardless of whether or not you have the right loadout selected. Maybe try going into Diamond Dynasty (DD) and playing a conquest map game (because it's just 3 innings) and then go back into RTTS. You will still need to switch loadouts in the main menu like you did, but you should (emphasis on should) get XP for them as long as you don't leave RTTS again. As soon as you do, you'll likely have to go through a DD round again.

First issue: Not really true, Yes it says that SP is still active in the loadout selection menu when choosing my DH loadout, but I can choose DH and my stats are applied as my power hitting is much stronger. You can even see that the power section of the PCI is longer in that loadout. So I am using the loadout I selected.

I activated my pitcher loadout and I still wasn't getting any strikeouts tallied for the program in RTTS, even though I was striking out 12 batters every game at least.

All you need to do to fix this is use only on profile. Then every time you load the game to play from Xbox Home Screen go into DD and load up any moment. You don’t even have to do the whole moment. You can just do enough to register any XP then exit the moment. Go into RTTS and play, repeat steps if you exit the game to dashboard and start it up again. You should see progress on you archetype then. I been doing this for a few days works ever. Solid work around to their progress bug. Unfortunately it works best if you are not 2 way player as the multi profiles are bugged. My catcher only player has 1 diamond archetype unlocked Hawkeye and working on diamond Tool Shed now.

Laggy forums just like their servers. Can’t even delete the multiple posts from it.

I have one loadout. Did the "fix". Worked for two games. Then stopped again. Can we please stop promoting this? All it does it make them think that we have found a way to be content while they take their time.

It works for me for hours as long as I don’t close out the game or change anything in the profile. I have seen others on XBOX say this as well so maybe PS is even more bugged.

It's entirely possible that it is applying stats but the game still isn't registering that you switched loadouts from a progression standpoint. The underlying bug is still the same, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are small variations with it. I've only really run into it going from SP to position player so maybe that's part of it. Regardless of whether or not you can get it to work it's ridiculous that you have to do any of the workaround stuff, and even crazier we've had no ETA on a patch to fix the issue.

So, is this by design? I only seem to gain progress if I use my active loadout. If so, it's a poor design because I can't see which position i'm about to play until the lineup screen is shown, and at that point you cannot back out and switch your active loadout. The loadout selection screen should allow you to set which loadout is "active".
In fact, the entire "active" status is a bad design too. When I select a loadout, I obviously want it to be active. -
The only way to get credit for all of your RTTS objectives, is if you are online. It's happened to me a hundred times. It can be a server issue, bad connection, or anything. I'll step away from the game sometimes, only to come back 20 mins later to find that I'm not connected anymore. To verify that you are connected in RTTS, go to load out from locker room, and click "X/square" to view your objectives for that archetype. If it allows you to view objectives, then you're good. If it doesn't, and says" must be connected to view program missions", then you'll need to turn game off, quit, and reboot game. Problem solved. Just remember to view program missions every couple games in RTTS, so you don't play a half of season without realizing you're not connected like I did. Lol. Half season down the drain and no credit for anything.

About the loadout before games...YES it does let you switch before every game. When it says play next game, after you click ok, the next screen should have a list of all your loadouts on the left. You have to highlight what loadout you want to use for that game ONLY. I know sometimes one of them will have the word activated beside it, but just be sure to select one Everytime regardless of what it says. Just make sure you select the correct position the coach has you playing that game. You might have used shortstop the last game, so more than likely it will say activated next to it. But if your coach wants you to be a relief pitcher the next game, underneath the list of loadouts to choose from, at the bottom it will say " Next games position": and tell you what position you need to select. Then, all stats for that loadout will update in game automatically. Just always pay attention before every game to know where coach has you.
