Checked swings are a nightmare this year. In the past if if I caught that i was fooled early, i could let go of the button and stop my swing. You know, that thing real baseball players do on a game to game basis. Now it forces you to swing. Remove them from DD if those people don't like them, but for the rest of the modes that are supposed to be baseball sim, let us actually be able to do it.

It works fine as it is. It’s pressure sensitive. Lightly tap, you’ll check your swing. Mash the button, too bad

That is not true. I barely pressed the button and let go almost instantly and the player practically fell over.

Very few check swings get called balls in baseball and that's the way it should be. The amount of check swing balls was horrible last year and glad it is finally fixed.

Actually I’d guess it’s like 50/50, not very few. But this is way better than last year with half the guys you play checking every single pitch lol

LOL It was not 98% More Like 75%

Never 75%. I bet my life it was in the 90’s

How many dudes did you play last year that would early on almost every pitch and then checked every single time it was off speed and never get rung up?

Too many times. Some were masters at it. Some people hate the way it is now but it was highly abused last year. It’s not normal to check swing 50+ times in a game and maybe get it called once or twice a strike

Someone just realized they're not good at the game now that the CPU isn't helping them on every swing.

In 20 the check swing percentage was in the batters favor WAY too often, and you could foul off pitches with horrendous timing and the PCI nowhere near the ball. Between that and the forced meatballs over the plate, players who had no business scoring a single run were kept in the game against better competition.

Welcome to The Show 21. If you want to swing, press A or X. If you don't want to swing...don't press A or X. Problem solved.

I am thankful for the change, and I say that as someone who, I think, is pretty good at checking. I still can do it this year. That said, there probably is a happy medium somewhere in the middle of this and last year. BUT, this year is better than last.

I would much rather have it that when I intend to check-swing I go around, rather than if I intend to swing I actually check-swing. The latter happened to me quite often last year.

Personally I think this year hit the nail on the head in terms of check-swing realism.
