Still no PS5 upgrade/download

I know I’m being selfish, but this is a huge screw up with zero explanation or answers from GameStop or SDS. I was hoping the free download/upgrade would show up today on official launch day, but nope.
I have the disc in. I checked the store. I pressed options to check game version. I only have an option to download the tech test, not the full game.
If anyone in the same boat hears anything, could you drop a note below? I’ve been playing this game since 08, one of my favorite things in the world. I was really looking forward to next gen performance and the stadium creator.

Has anyone with a physical disc copy had a successful install? I'm receiving my copy on Thursday and I'm hesitant to open reading all these PS5 issues.

I'm wondering the same. My copy came in at best buy today for ps5 and I was going to go get it after work. I'm sort of afraid to open it in case it doesn't work.

Physical copy upgrade worked for me, but if unopened, I would recommend returning and just buying digital copy. It is very annoying moving the physical disc between an old ps4 and the new ps5 each time I play. Description says full game download, so didn't think would need the disc constantly.

Yea I'm returning mine. This would be my second year playing the show so I decided to show support because I loved the game but in all honesty the hat and hard cover aren't worth the hassle and money

Yeah, I don't think a lot of people realize that the disc is still required even if you download the PS5 version.

I had no issues with the upgrade. The disc had to be in the PS5, when i selected the game icon, i pressed down and on the right was the "Free PS5 Upgrade". Sucks they misled people to believe it would be a full digital download.

I put the disc in and downloaded the PS4 version.... Put in the PS5 redeem code and NOTHING.... This is a HUGE issue for a lot of people....

I got the game for $50 so I can't return it or I won't get the discount. So I'd prefer it to work. I don't have a ps4 only using it on a ps5 and bought the ps5 version. So it sounds like I may not have an issue unless I had the ps4 version correct? I'd think it would just automatically install the ps5 version?

No most people know that. It’s just not working like it is supposed to. I spent 3 hours with Sony support chat going through every trouble shooting thing they had with no results to be able to download the PS5 version like the JR version was supposed to do. They gave me a last ditch thing and said that should fix it. Thanks and bye. Which of course it didn’t work.

Should we return our games and just buy the PS5 version? Its annoying but that is where I am at... Will SDS take care of the people with issues

So far SDS has ignored 3 support tickets I have opened on this issue, so really not inspired that they will do anything. Think they are hoping that everyone will just rebuy the PS5 version and stop bothering them.

I can't get my ps5 version either! pre-ordered physical copy Jackie Robinson Deluxe Edition.
I feel like the problem is that I put the disc in and unknowingly copied the game(ps4 version). Then proceeded to use the redemption code so all the content went to the ps4 game potentially eliminating the ps5 content download and all?!!!
I wonder if those who just put the redemption code in without pre-installing the ps4 version via disc got the ps5 download with no issues?
If so very nice of them to include detailed instructions for ps5 users!!!! This is probably an issue created by not allowing the PS5 upgrade to all purchasers(standard) or just keeping the 2 versions completely separate purchases!
Please help SDS! Please help Playstation!! We paid $100 plus for a PS5 game we can't use!

Nope I put in the PS 5 code first and then downloaded the game and NOTHING! Also got the XP to get the first inning boss and it didn’t give me a pack... SDS REALLY NEEDS TO GET THEIR Sh*t together this year

did you redeem your code 1st or put the disc in 1st?
I put the disc in 1st like an idiot and downloaded the ps4 version unknowingly and then used the redemption code which I'm starting to think applied all the content to the "different" game version, perhaps eliminating the ps5 content and download?
just wondering how you were successful?

Are there step for step instructions for installing? It would seem to me that you would put the codes in after you download the game, but if the installs says otherwise.

When I tried to download it it ended up downloading the beta instead for the ps5 version
