2v2 online multi-player from same console

EA calls it couch play. I am a diehard mlb the show fan but when my friends and I get together we can not play on the same team online against another multi-player online team so we play the games where up to 4 players can play co op or online couch play simultaneously. When will mlb the show realize that the more players that can play the game simultaneously the more games and online subscriptions will sell.

Because in other sports, more than person on a team can be doing something different simultaneously. That's not really the case in baseball.

It'd be like having 2v2 in Mike Tyson's PunchOut where one guy's the boxer and the other guy's the corner man. Who'd play that?!?

You wouldn't be a corner man though, you'd be playing in the game with your friend. If you watch strangers play games on Twitch, why would you not be interested in watching your friend pitch while you field or watching their at bats? It would be like watching a teammate from the dugout or being a fielder watching a pitcher.

2v2 Diamond Dynasty Mode - alternate at bats, alternate who pitches each inning, if you aren't pitching that inning then you control all the fielders. No one's forcing people who don't have friends on the game to play the mode, it would just be another option to play with friends since they took away online franchise.
