MLB THE SHOW 21 PROSPECTS AND FUTURE STARS

So this is something I was just thinking about and it got me curious on other people's thoughts as a Dodgers fan my list will have Dodgers on it as I don't follow other teams this is something I'd like the community to come together and possibly give SDS an idea in what we might want to see. In terms of content specifically with the Prospect and Future Stars cards. My list for the Dodgers off the top of my head goes as follows
FS Edwin Rios (to my knowledge he never got a Prospect or Future Stars card his 94 in TS 20 was a Topps now)
FS Kiebert Ruiz (only got a gold Prospect in TS 20)
Prospect and FS Josiah Gray
Prospect and FS Kody Hoese
Prospect DJ Peter's
Prospect and or FS Cody Thomas
Thoughts on who we see as Prospects and Future Stars in MLB TS 21?
-
I want an Austin Martin and JJ Bleday
-
Future stars Spencer Torkelson will rake I bet

Am in the minority of not liking FS and Prospect cards in DD? All of the other cards are based on historical stats and evidence, even the Topps Now cards and monthly rewards. The FS cards and Prospects cards are 100% based off of some dude working for SDS. I get it that die hard baseball guys who follow those young stars like to see them but I think I would rather see them relegated to a lesser game mode or only for their event or something. I know this is being nitpicky so please don't come for me. They just aren't the tea for me. I guess it just bugs me all of the other cards have the ratings they have for a reason and then these juiced up cards just get dropped in. I don't know why it bugs me so much.

There's several on the same page as you, but I'm not one of them. I've never understood the very loud few that hate on future stars. I'm not even saying you are one of them, because you laid your point across very respectfully. They are a fun card series IMO. You will hear people say "why are these future stars rated the same as Griffey, Babe, etc." but still don't use the future stars anyway. When's the last time anyone has seen a future stars card used online? The only one used on God squads is Mize but that is more because of the rarity than anything. Idk. I respect your opinion certainly but future stars have been around since MLB 17 and no one said a word when, Ohtani, Acuna, Benintendi, and Julio Urias got future stars cards back in the day. Sure they probably didn't need to give those cards to most of the guys through Team affinity but I see Absolutely no issue with the top 25-30 prospects getting cards

I think we are closer to the same line of thinking than we may realize. I don't really mind them having cards but I think they should top out at gold or maybe a low diamond. Please excuse my ignorance if this is the case because I don't put a lot of time into checking these cards out but I do think it's a bit silly for there to be a FS card that is 97+ when they have possibly never accomplished a single thing other than making it to the show.

I don't Put much stock into ratings. Like I said even with the future stars cards having high ratings they aren't really used much. Mostly just a fun series of cards to use for team builds etc. I know a lot of folks around here take ratings way too seriously (look up the post about Joe Carter). Year after year Griffey is going to hold a spot in 99%of outfields. I just don't see a wider variety of cards as a bad thing. If SDS were to give Torkleson, Adley, Franco, Witt Jr. etc high diamond cards next year and not give the cards to Daz Cameron, Kevin Smith Jorge Mateo type guys next year I see absolutely no issue with that whatsoever

As a die hard mariner fan, I really like the addition of the prospects because thats all I really have to get excited about. Our MLB roster is pretty poor, aside from Kyle Lewis we dont really have any star potential guys. However we do have some solid legends and prospects that make DD fun to play. With that said, I am hoping Kelenic and Rodriguez get highly rated cards this year neither of them got above 89. Id also be stoked if Hancock, Gilbert, and Marte got decent cards with all of them being top 100 caliber prospects.

GIVE ME NICO HOERNER
-
I think Prospect cards should be Evolution type cards.

I haven’t been deep into baseball for about 10 years now. But over the last year or two that’s taken a huge 180 and one thing that actively got me excited to do some research and dive back into the sport was these prospect and future star cards.
Besides watching All-Time greats win MVP and Cy Young awards and be great. I find the Rookie of the Year race and the prospects performing as one of the most exciting things in baseball. I say bring on more of the youth and future of the sport. It’s only a positive thing.

I think thats a really interesting concept. It would make sense for the cards to evolve if you can reach certain stats with them. Would kind of symbolize them making the jump to the big leagues.
