Playing on Legend isn’t bad in the event

But these results I’m getting are utterly disgusting. Both bad and good. I think hall of fame might be the best difficulty to be on after this(even hall of fame has its moments).

It’s brutal. Every game I’m in is a 1-0 strikeout fest..thanks christ its a decent card rewards..won’t be grinding for the rewind pack that I usually do

I just wish some hits were rewarded more. One time my opponent hit 3 warning tracks for outs in an inning, I come up to hit and had 2 great swings with Trout and Pudge be weak flyouts. Honestly plays horrible as far as rewarding good input.

I just finished, 25-24 was my final record... it was actually an excellent challenge, extraordinarily difficult, and there are very few weak players attempting it, most opponents had winning records in RS around .600 or better. I'll bet my batting average was around .200 for the 49 games, probably hit 30 HR. Highest scoring game was a 5-3 loss after leading 3-0.
One thing this event did is revealed to me who the best pitchers in this game are. Lamet is extremely good. Degrom is sick but I'd rather face him than Lamet. And Gibson might be the best of them all. Fingers is a fantastic and tricky reliever, as well as Devin Williams, his change is filthy.
My best suggestion: Put out the best defense possible at every position, throw mostly strikes and a healthy dose of high FB's with all pitchers. I also recommend stealing 2nd almost every opportunity you get when you have 85 or higher speed except with Mays, who is terrible at baserunning, and I would attempt to steal 3rd with no outs if you can get the jump on the pitcher.
As for batting... if you're just flailing away, you have no plan, it's going to be hard to luck into hits, you must have a plan. You're never going to catch up to a FB if you're not looking for it. And you're going to be early on every off-speed if you're looking for a FB on every pitch. I think it's better to sit on off-speed and hope to foul off the FB's. Unless your opponent is jamming heaters down the middle of the plate on every first pitch, I think the 0-0 should always be a take. Let's you see a pitch and slow down the AB a little. Don't let a guy quick pitch you, especially with a runner on, slow them down with R1. The games go quickly even if you drag them out an extra couple minutes to allow yourself that extra couple seconds before every high-leverage pitch to get set.

I’m not sure I agree with the stealing third suggestion. When runs and hits are scarce, running yourself out of an inning is a mistake.
Remember the old adage to not make the first or last out at third base.

Just had a p/p fly ball with Babe Ruth off finest Beiber on a low cutter.....
“A ball that’s carrying...” for an out at the center field wall
Immediately turned the game off. Knew I shouldn’t have come back. Online gameplay is still a joke

Wow, really felt the need to copy and post this in 2 different threads? Yikes.

I did. Games terrible. A forum is for feedback and discussion on the game so where else would I get my point across
Considering it’s Babe Ruth with a p/p fly ball for an out? Yeah that deserves two posts to reiterate how bad this game plays lol

At this point of the year, we’ve all experienced perfect outs, negative exit velocities, gravity pitches, you name it.
The only way to get consistent good results with this game is to give consistent good input and wait for the outcome.
The problem is, most of us only give good input once and a while, and we want those times to be rewarded. It just doesn’t work that way, unfortunately.

I'm doing surprisingly well, but I feel like all 14 of my wins so far have been pure luck in mostly 1-0 games. I like seeing some of my traditionally underperforming pitchers do well for a few innings. I've given up any attempt at hitting prestige stats.

I finished 25-18, which surprised me. I won 8 games with a 0-0 score , which I guess would technically make me 17-18.
I hit .225 (84 for 374) with 21 HRs and 175k (!) Come to think of it, that's about normal for me.
98 Mondesi was 17-41 (.415) during this stretch and was my obvious, unanimous choice for MVP. I know that @ikasnu would be proud. That means the rest of my team was .201. Yuck.
P.S. I think Mondesi really should have been on the cover of MLB 21.
-
I’m so tempted to get Mondesi but I attempted a moment just now, and after playing the event on legend, I just can’t bear how slow the offspeed is.
Oh well. -

15-3 right now with a team of guys i’m just trying to prestige, not having too many issues hitting, this is what happens on legend.. you’re not going to luck into a bunch of hits like on hall of fame and all star gotta have a plan at the plate and practice a bit

A truer word has not been said, although I have definitely lucked into a couple, particularly when the opposing pitcher is getting tired.
Also, I have won a few by attrition just because I’ve bored my opponent to death. I’ve had a couple no hitters and been no hit, and have won on a bases loaded walk.
Good practice for sure, although for players like me, with poor pci placement, approach at the plate is everything.

Currently 26-10 with a very mediocre team compared to what everyone else is running. But now I’ve finally unlocked trout after selling bregman. Rewind packs here I come.

This event certainly made pitching very entertaining at least...
