Even though his Dodgers beat my Mets in 1988, I still loved him. He was very special and a true personality. There may never be another like him in Baseball.
He used to say the big Dodger in the sky will call him one day. It's sad but he lived a good long life. What an inspiration and motivator. He made you believe you could do whatever you want and be as good as you want to be. What a guy to have on your side. He loved the Dodgers. A quote I remember him saying is you have to play for the name on the front of your Jersey, not the back.
He said he wasn't going to die until the Dodgers win another world series and he kept his word.
