I have to disagree, low fastballs are absolutely lethal when used correctly. If you use them sparingly, and ESPECIALLY if the pitcher has outlier, you can freeze even the best hitters in the game.

I throw maybe 2-3 a game and it’s a hit every time it’s swung on.

You just aren’t using it properly can’t think in terms of real life pitch sequence bc the majority that play the game know it as well for example if you throw me a high fastball on a 0-2 count i automatically know a curve is coming bc that’s what would happen irl the key is to get out of that mind set and really mix up the sequences i love to freeze my opponent with a low & away fb when i have been pounding low sliders and they start laying off of them. They’ll either be late from seeing off speed pitches in that area or they’ll take thinking it’s yet another slider.

I throw low fastballs inside just fine, I only avoid it on certain hitters such as Trout or Hornsby, who seem to thrive on hitting early home runs.

That’s literally how I said I used them. The only time I get strikes is when they don’t swing. But when they do it’s always an extra base hit.

They work on me. Most people don’t throw low fast balls so when they do it usually catches me off guard. Though I am admittedly just an average player.

A lot of people sit/look low to begin a game. Then start cheating high in high leverage situations. Just have to pay attention to what they are doing. Some never cheat up in the zone.

What this guys says..... I have been burned many times (usually on AS) where I just assume my opponent is always sitting on the high fastball...sadly it took me a long time to out two and two together and now know how to figure that out and adapt 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Freezing guys. Sure. I’m talking about when guys make contact. Every low fastball that’s actually swung on gets crushed for me.

I'd say it depends where he is looking. If he's looking up in the zone and has to react down then there is a chance he'll stay on top of it and hit a roundball, albeit a hard one. On AS it's definitely not advisable to work them down as a stock pitch.

I used to rarely throw fastballs low in the zone, but I've actually had a lot of success with them recently. Once I'm ahead in the count I set it up with low sliders and change ups. I either catch the opponent looking, or they swing with terrible timing and pop out. If you don't set it up properly or if the opponent guesses right, of course it's going to get drilled.
