The show market vs the stock market is the equivalent of pre-K arithmetic vs advanced calculus.

And multi-millionaires. Do you even have a dollar invested in the stock market?

I'm sure it's great to have a million stubs but all you can buy with that is virtual baseball cards. A million in the stock market and you're set for retirement.

LOL. I though about this when I played madden last year. I wondered if i put my mind to it could i flip like i do with virtual cards. The reality kicked in and i was sad. Im just video game rich

You wouldn't want to flip stocks like virtual baseball cards. Day trading is risky.

I'm not trying to compare the show market to the stock market.

I'm trying to see if people who have a million stubs here have any money at all in the real stock market. I have a feeling they probably don't.

why not. I'm curious. I wonder if people that spend hours in a fake market spend any time at all in a real market that makes real money. It would behoove them to do so.

Risk of loss of real dollars in The Show Market: 0%.
Risk of loss of real dollars in NYSE/NASDAQ/etc: substantially more.

That's like comparing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to Lloyd Cushenberry III of the Broncos because they both play at the Center position.

Exactly, I don't make an income right now where I can experiment with the stock market. I'd love to some day, but not now. Honestly OP is probably jealous of people who have millions of stubs, so he's passively aggressively posting about how they could be doing something else with their life.

My wife and I make enough between us. I won't ever get my Ferrari, but we're happy, and that's what matters to us. One of my philosophies in life is you can always make another buck, but you can't buy one more second of time. So I'd rather make less and have more free time, than try to break the bank. To each their own though.

Again, I'm not trying to compare the show market vs. stock market.
The stock markets rate of return for the last 100 years has been 8-10%. I will take that risk any day. If you take no risk you're going to be eating beans and rice during retirement.

If you're "not trying to compare the show market vs. the stock market", then stop trying to compare investing in the show market vs. investing in the stock market.

That's all fine and dandy. Life's not all about money, I agree. And I'm not all about getting rich. It's about making your money work and having a secure retirement. There is this phenomenon called inflation. You might have enough now but how about when your 75?
Investing in the stock market really doesn't require much time. But you do you.

Preorder was the last time I sunk money into the game. Have 5 max price cards, 2 more max buy orders in. 2.5 in the bank.

Everything was bought because I will never make world series or go 12-0, and I didn't flip a single card all year.

Yep, we have a a very diverse portfolio and have planned extensively for our kids education as well as retirement.

I still find this thread one of the more douche baggy I have seen on here.
