Finest DeGrom

Just curious how everyone is doing with this card? I generally pitch well with him, but for some reason I also crush him even on HOF. Something about his delivery makes him super easy to read for whatever reason. My success pitching with him though makes me wonder if I’m in the minority there.

I've only started to dabble with him recently as I try to prestige him. Find him very mixed. Last start was 5.2 scoreless, 9 Ks. Start before he didn't get out the third inning, so definitely not 'reliable' in that regard!

Is all about pitch speeds. Try to figure out where your opponent is sitting their pci at. Keep them worried about the fastball but beat them with slider and change up. Curveball is a no no. Look at swing results. When your opponent starts to be just early or late on a pitch , switch it up.

I have only used him in 2 starts, and both of which I found him difficult to control. Haven't been hit hard and it's a small sample size so I plan on continuing to run him out there, but that's my limited experience with him for whatever that's worth.

13-4 with this regular card. I basically threw him to the wolves in his last outing trying to get 6 ks.
1-0 with his prestige card, ERA 4.50ish, 4 ER against a WS series player

i have his blood card, and i had a guy quit in RS on me after the 2nd or 3rd inning he was getting smoked out hard degrom is one of the best SP in the game

He’s been amazing for me. I just prestiged him and he’s a lock in my rotation until 2021.

I’ve found that his off speed pitches get smacked. I do better throwing 80 fastballs a game then a 50-30 split. Doesn’t feel like pitching, which I think hurts the card a bit.

But the movement on his pitches are exactly where you want them. And once you get them looking for movement, you can blow the 102 by them out of no where.

Typically I would agree. I’m much better with pitchers with movement. But his slider being so fast is the speed players are able to hit when they are so far behind a fastball.

that’s a fair point. As much as SDS gets trashed for not making every card perfect, they do a good job with the variety of players given everyone’s skill set in the game. What works for one may not work for another.

He’s been solid. 25 innings, a lot of K’s, ERA under 3.

He is easy to prestige in events. I either pitch great or get shelled. No real in between, could be user error.

I spend a lot of time in all star difficulty due to skill. Idk if anyone else that uses him can speak for this.. but my big thing with him is reading when OP is finally starting to see him and yank him quick. I understand this can apply to all pitchers. But when DeGrom is going bad, it goes downhill quick. Don’t be stingy keeping him in. Just a fellas opinion.

Yeah he gets figured out eventually from the so so players. Quickly for the good players trolling in all star difficulty. Overall though he is most reliable all star pitcher for me.
