Just bought a monitor. Put it in FPS mode. Was just wondering if there are any certain settings people use.

Its good you're playing games on a monitor instead of a silly TV. The only setting is just calibrate the colours to your liking, or use one of the presets.

Ya I was playing on 65 inch tv lol. I made World Series before. It was series grind on tv though very hard to catch up to velocity even if I was sitting on pitch and right on it Wish I would have got monitor years ago. Thanks ya I put it in fps mode and tweaked the color settings and brightness and stuff to my liking.

Found myself down the "TV vs Monitor" debate one night and found myself going into a straight nerd mode about it days later lol went and got one a few days later and loveeee it -- with that said, PS4 max out at 60fps -- so from what I gathered from everyone else commenting that seemed to know much more than the group of us who are just now recently woke to the monitor life, is that much of the advanced features/reasons monitors are superior aren't allowed to shine with the limitations of the console -- dont get me wrong, I have been playing better and tell myself the monitor is making a huge difference -- but I don't know how much of that, from a specs breakdown is actually true lol at least we have them now for the PS5 ayyyyyyyy

I did some serious digging to satisfy some questions I had not too long ago about this subject.

1st the machines... the ps4 pro's actually play at a locked 60fps all online games are locked at 60fps for the ps4, I'm not sure what the story will be for the ps5. While the Pro is locked at 60, the ps4 floats and rarely hits 60fps especially in an online game.

So if you're playing on an old PS4 (like I am) you're playing at a native disadvantage and you're missing probably on avg. 25% of the frames, sometimes more if there's a lot going on on the screen.

For the ps4 a 75hz monitor will do the job fine if you have a higher hz monitor you have more options and can make it look better and smoother, plus, obviously if you are getting a 5 spring for 144 or better.

Plenty of monitors with a 1ms lag so look at those, if you're on a tv you're at a disadvantage in online play, no matter how good, no matter if it's in gaming mode.

There's also controller lag... but information travels much faster via the cable so a plugged in controller is faster than using wireless.

There's something else I'm forgetting, when I remember I'll add it.

Oh yeah... also depending on what you have going on in the background that can make a big difference in processing power and teh FPS you run at on the old ps4. I still wouldnt download things or run programs in teh background while playing online with the pro but it can undoubtedly handle it better than the old ps4.
