With Several legends and flashbacks not
having cards yet, it is time for RIB part 2. Here are the cards I think should be included:
94 SS Bruce Sutter
95 Steve Bedrosian
95 Jack Morris
93-94 Dan Plesac
92 Adam Dunn
97 Warren Spahn
97 Enos Slaughter
97 Robin Roberts
95 Eric Hosmer
96-97 John Olerud
Thoughts?Warren Spahn didn't get a high diamond card last year and hasnt even been in DD this year so I would say his rights are over. Same with Enos Slaughter
They are both in the game in franchise though. Same with Orlando Cepeda and Phil Niekro. Although I don’t see Niekro being in DD again
The Niekro one is a joke. Just because they cant figure out how to properly code the knuckleball (same as the sinker) they will leave out a guy who has been in the game before, and is 11th all time in WAR for pitchers.

Were you around in 17 when all you faced in the end was 99 Tiant, Dickey, Niekro?

That was 18 as well, and again it's their fault they cant code a knuckleball properly. They made it too accurate. Tiant was a different story as well, because he could still throw 90s fastballs off the knuckleball. Niekro cant.

Nice call on RIB 2
-
THEY HAVE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED RIB PART 2!
-
I’m thinking this is where we can get a John Olerud, if we get one course.
-
I don’t want to say I gave SDS the idea but that timing is impeccable

This is my first year playing the Show, I love it!
For you veteran players, has Joe Mauer been in the game in previous years?? My house is full of Twins fans, a Mauer card would make our year!

He was up until he retired. SDS has to acquire his rights for him to come back

Dennis Eckersley is the first of the 11 revealed

About [censored] time. The man was such a feared weapon out of the bullpen during the late 80s-early 90s.
It still seems strange to me that he went from being one of a handful of immortals in 18 to a 97 overall for his SS card. Either way, it's one that I've been waiting for since early in the year.

I think his signature card is a 97 because he is a little held back by his years as a starter. A Cy young awards card would have been a 99 IMO

Although people dont remember him as that good of a starter, he had a 3 year stretch from 77-79 where he was very good. He had a total WAR of 19.6 for those 3 years. I just knew him as a closer and premier one at that, but looking back he had some very good years as a starter. That 3 year stretch is higher than the best 3 year stretch in WAR of Cliff Lee, Chris Sale, Tom Glavine, Kyle Kluber, Cole Hamels, John Smoltz, Zach Greinke, etc.
That was an interesting project to see what some of the best 3 year stretches would be for modern day players. Randy Johnson at 28.9 was the highest I found. Pedro 28.8, Clemens 27.7, Gaylord Perry 27.1, Seaver 27, Niekro 26.3, Koufax 26.1

Good start! His evo card was great for me.

@Original_Quad said in Its time for run it back part 2:
With the last RIB they made a full team out of it. There were no repeats players at any position except SP and RP. So either hosmer or Olerud would have to go (hopefully hosmer, everybody wants that high overall olerud).
Anyways, here’s the cards I think would fill out those positions:
C - Russell Martin
1B - John Olerud
2B - Bill Mazeroski
3B - Miguel Cabrera
SS - Omar Vizquel
LF - Adam Dunn
CF - Richie Ashburn
RF - Enos Slaughter
And the pitchers you mentioned (though I think Spahn would get a 99)Interesting. I didn't even realize it was a full lineup before. It's 11 this time, so that could be a full lineup, one starter and two RPs? Or maybe they skip the idea of a full lineup.
Knowing this next inning program is the final one, we're getting packs of previous innings and not new bosses. Right? That's how it was last year if I recall. I don't recall about the final inning henchmen last year.
The upcoming event is about "kids" so maybe the rewards are Future Stars. And the Run It Back was about older players.
We're getting Eck. So, my thoughts are we could see a possibility of these guys with the rest of them:
Lefty Grove, Spahn, Robin Roberts, Fergie, Brooks Robinson, Verlander, Cano, Eddie Murray, Edgar Martinez, McCovey, Stargell, Dale Murphy, Steve Bedrosian, Bruce Sutter, Robb Nen and Jack Morris are the guys I've had on my list of better cards we still might get.
Could also still see some of Arrieta, Percival, Braun, Plesac, Dunn, Olerud, CarGo, Giambi, Tino Martinez, Vizquel, Russell Martin, Mazeroski, Cliff Floyd, Garrett Anderson and Keith Hernandez that could fit this program.
Grove, Verlander and Murray are likely 99s and maybe could be RS or BR rewards (if they do more). The others I feel are probably 94-99s, most of them coming in just short of 99s, I'm guessing. So, they would fit with the program. Remember, this program isn't about 99s to fit your lineup at this point of the year, but more about getting more cards and options out there of guys that need higher cards.

Can someone remind me of the original group of RIB players?

92 Adam Dunn, confirmed

Another fun card I thought of that would fit in perfect here is Johnny Venters.
