I wouldn’t say it’s a troll as much as it is strategic for some people. Holding R2, stepping off at random times, bunt dancing, does nothing but frustrate the opponent and that can easily throw off their timing or make them rush a pitch and give up a bomb or two. Babe Ruth said it himself, baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical. I would much rather play someone who does that all game over someone who fouls off everything in the dirt or over their head with very early/very late timing.

That was Yogi Berra that said that, Not Babe Ruth but I get your point.

Are you sure he was being a deliberate a******e? Maybe he was just trying to look at the pitcher's inventory.

I wish I could say to myself that those types of behaviors don’t bother me, but they do. If you’re good at the game, there’s no need to be so arrogant. Why do people have such a need to taunt/troll others? Disappointing for sure.
I think some of it is that they are probably not good at anything else in their life except for this game so they need to relish in it. It's pretty sad honestly.

Oh thanks my bad idk why I had that wrong I was just throwing in the quote to help the explanation. Not saying you should do it every game, but sometimes it comes in handy on impatient players.

So there are people who need to look at the pitchers inventory before every single pitch???? C'mon man...

He was bunt dancing over and over. How would that be looking at at my pitches. And this guy was good enough to not need to try to throw me off , that’s bush league BS.

Bunt dancing was first conceived as a tactic to ruin your opponents timing if they were using meter. The very act of showing bunt midway through the windup had the effect of making the meter disappear when viewed from some angles, meaning they would inevitably miss the delivery badly. These days the kids don’t even know why they bunt dance, they just do it because they’ve heard of it being a troll move, no concept of why. I will flash bunt immediately after a spectacular diving catch by my opponent, or flashy double play. I hope they realise I’m just tipping my virtual cap to them and not trolling.

Haha the best is when you play someone who is bunt dancing all game and you just wait to pitch once they put the bunt out and then they are always either super late or don't even swing and then they just keep doing it and never realize that the only person that they are messing up is themselves. They are so focused on trying to mess you up that they will keep doing it no matter how much it is negatively affecting them.

I use the one bunt flash as a sign of respect, or congratulations, nice play, etc.. but a guy who has a top 25 badge and averages over 5 homers a game across 500 games bunt dancing 7x after his first hitter struck out knows he is being a douche.

When will this statement retire? I find it when someone is really good at something that is not important in the grand scheme of the world someone who isnt rattles off this phrase as almost to protect his ego? I'm not good at this but its okay... I'm only good at the stuff that matters.
Use to see it all the time friends good at beer pong lose to some random guys at a party and the walk off saying...that's probably the only thing their good at...

You obviously didn't even pay attention to what I said. I have no issues with someone being good at something that isn't important in the grand scheme of things. I wish I was great at MLB the Show but we're talking about people who are good at the game who also feel the need to bunt dance and do all of that extra BS and do all of that toxic stuff still just to almost showboat. There are a lot of other people who are very good who don't do that [censored]. When I see someone who is good who does all that then they make it seem like that have to do all that extra stuff because they are probably not good at anything else and the game is the one thing they are good at in their life. Pay attention to what someone is saying before posting a comment talking trash next time.

If u have the time , step off..take your time on deliveries .. Throw over .. Step off.... I'll slow the game down to the point they just want to get the game over with and let me go on my way it probably works half of the time lol

Trying to finish prestiging some pitchers in the event and faced a guy 476-150 ( something like that), and checking his stats he has almost a .400 average and 2460 home runs in those games., along with the championship belt badge.....I strike out his first hitter with Marichal and he starts bunt dancing....so I put one in his ear and than paused and let him wait out the timer....I wasn’t going to beat him, just shocks me that these guys who play this much and are this good pull that stuff..... next guy was just as bad...oh well, pointless thread, we all know these jackas** are out there, just thought guys that were that good wouldn’t pull that stuff....
Some folks have that mentality that they deserve to succeed at everything. I'm sure if you asked him he'd probably say he struck out all because of him and not your pitching. Like you, don't bother playing these folks either.

I've never seen the alternate spelling for Yogi Berra that you used right there.

I knew it! Just keep playing and you'll get better. I recommend always sitting fastballs and adjusting off speed. Be patient and try to stay focused through the flaws and glitches. Happy to help! -
Its on you for letting it get in your head. I bet IRL it wouldn't take much to make you mad first. Lol just ignore it. Even when they hold R2, they can only do it so long. Its in the game. It isnt leaving this year. Adapt or quit. It's that time of year anyway

I also do this. Crazy dot pitches i give a respectful bat show. Or a diving play. Lol not 2 tho. Only 1. Sometimes my opponent takes it the wrong way. So thats always a win.
