All I want is Prince Fielder and A.Beltre.

Beltre was so tough to leave off the list. Spent years watching him own third base in Seattle. Honestly, I could’ve put either Fielder on the list. Prince and Cecil would be mashers. There would have to be a moment of Prince hitting one out of Tiger Stadium when he was a little kid. That was a playground legend in the early 90s!

Dodgers Steve Sax is all I could ever ask for....No one would use him but me, but it would be the dream.

I lie, for pitching I would love Pedro, Fernando, or Koufax.

You sound like a Dodgers fan, no love for Ramon Martinez? Raul Mondesi? Pedro Guerrero?

I am a Dodgers nut since I was 7 (1981). Loved Pedro, Mike Scioscia, Orel, Mariano Duncan, and the list goes on and on.

So would be stoked for any of the guys you mentioned, but Sax was my first sports hero, so that would be the be all end all.

If I’m allowed to make one change on this list, it would be to replace Clemens with Pedro. Still can’t believe I left him off

Great list. Nomo would be very fun to use. Funny how you have Randy Johnson as a Mariner and JJ Putz as a D back. You could argue keeping both on the list but then just switching teams lol. Jose Fernandez should’ve been on my list. RIP.

I’m actually surprised Al Simmons isn’t in the game already. He’d make my list, but Waddell would just be too much fun. If a player equipped a siren, he would run off the mound looking for the fire truck.

Some of these players have been in previous versions of the game, some are virtually impossible due to rights issues, but here is a personal wish list of one player from each team I wish was in The Show.

    Atlanta Braves - Hank Aaron
    Washington Nationals - Tim Raines
    Miami Marlins - Dontrelle Willis
    Philadelphia Phillies - Steve Carlton
New York Mets - Dwight Gooden

    Cincinnati Reds - Frank Robinson
    Milwaukee Brewers - Cecil Cooper
    Pittsburgh Pirates - Roberto Clemente
    Chicago Cubs - Ron Santo
St Louis Cardinals - Willie McGee

San Francisco Giants - Barry Bonds
Los Angeles Dodgers - Fernando Valenzuela
San Diego Padres - Dave Winfield
    Arizona Diamondbacks - Randy Johnson
    Colorado Rockies - Vinny Castilla

New York Yankees - Derek Jeter
Boston Red Sox - Roger Clemens
Toronto Blue Jays - Dave Stieb
    Baltimore Orioles - George Sisler
Tampa Bay Rays - Carl Crawford

    Cleveland - Albert Belle
Chicago White Sox - Wilbur Wood
    Minnesota Twins - Kirby Puckett
    Detroit Tigers - Lou Whitaker
Kansas City Royals - Willie Wilson

    Seattle Mariners - Ichiro Suzuki
Los Angeles Angels - Jim Fregosi
    Texas Rangers - Rafael Palmeiro
    Houston Astros - J.R. Richard
    Oakland Athletics - Rube Waddell

Defunct Organizations - Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Cool Papa Bell, Jack Glasscock, Old Hoss Radbourn

Did I forget your favorite player? Did I list someone already in the game? Am I a l[censored] moron? Leave your input below. Looking forward to your suggestions and comments.

J.R. Richard, one of the bigger what if's and it would be really cool to see SDS maybe do a couple guys a year to highlight some of them who would have been household names had there careers not been cut tragically short. I think baseball and its fans embrace the games history and former players in a way no oter sport does. I love talking to my son about many of the Legends and passing on the stories my father told me as a kid about guys like Gibson, Koufax, Mantle, Clemente etc.

Clemente and Richard would actually be a pretty good couple guys to start with. Nice list and Stieb was fealty he reallly had some crazy movement

Great response. Completely agree on Richard. I’ve been fascinated with his career since I was a kid, though he medically retired right before I was born, and I have no doubt he would be a hall of famer if not for his stroke (which I blame Astros doctors on, but that’s another story).

Some of the choices I made for the list weren’t necessarily because the player was the best on his team not in the game, but players I think should be remembered more. Guys like Dave Stieb, Jim Fregosi and Lou Whitaker. Dominant stars in their day, but hardly talked about anymore outside their respective fan bases.

Gabby Hartnett, specifically his 1930 season. We need more options at catcher.
