Best Catcher in the Game
-
Would a switch-hitting catcher with 96 contact from both sides, 112 power from both sides, 78 vision, a 99 arm, 90 fielding and blocking, and 60 speed be the best catcher in the game (regardless of OVR)? If not, which catcher would be better to have? Looking at Bench, he comes close, but is not a switch hitter and is out of my reach.

foxx hands down

Foxx or cap or a platoon using danard vs righties
-
I love Posada. He’s cheeks in the field but he hits better than any other catcher & it’s not even close.

Foxx can't through the ball to 2nd base and get it past the pitcher.
-
Postseason yasmani grandal works for me maybe better then buster posey

I have also hit well with Posada, before I sold him a few weeks ago.

hes my catcher and 2 mpnths that ive had him hes hitting 318 33 hr 57 rbi

CAP is the best non platoon option and the one I use, but a d'Arnaud/Posey platoon is excellent if you want to go that way.

I’ve tried them all...Posada is the only one I rake with consistently. I’ll usually sub prestiged Posey after Posada’s last at bat for defense but yeah - Posada is a stud.

Pudge with Biggio on the bench. Pudge wont let anything past him and is lock down on basestealers which in h2h is almost more valuable than a big bat. He gets on late in the game and I'm down I just sub in biggio.
-
I have Jorge on my bench because Posey has been God-like after a miserable start. When I do PH Posada, he seemingly always gets hits!

How does he catch the ball then?
I just subbed him in for gehrig at 1st and he had 3 consecutive errors on easy grounders, so he can't even catch at his primary position with his hands up...

Thanks, guys. LOL @ the hands jokes.

Exactly my catching situation as well.

Foxx can’t block balls to save his life it’s really annoying.
-
I tried Foxx for his bat but had to sell him. Too much of a defensive liability for me.

PS d'arnaud mashes with elite def.

Foxx is a great bat, no doubt. But his defense is horrible! I hope that MLB 21 puts more emphasis on defense. Having said that, I think Pudge is hands down the best catcher in the game. His defense behind the plate is better than anyone with his arm strength, accuracy, and blocking. His bat is GREAT too!! He has plenty of contact and power, plus he has both the 'hitting machine' and 'bomber' quirks. I've been spending most of this ranked season grinding for Goose in the events, but in RS Pudge is hitting over 300 for me with plenty of XBH. For my money, Pudge is the best.
