PSN issues- Anybody else?

Apparently there's a small number of people affected by some login bug after the update to 8.0 and I'm curious if anybody else has gotten smacked by it.
Everything is fine except the console. It doesn't let you log in. Everytime you log in, it says you are logged out.
Logging in on the web, mobile etc. No issues.
CSR acknowledgement exists with no expected resolution. They tell you to keep trying once an hour for the next few hours.

Apparently, the "fix" for affected people is to login via web or mobile and change the email address associated with your PS ID.
Sorry, but that's not an acceptable solution.
As a person that was affected YEARS ago by a data breach at Sony, I would highly recommend NOT using that solution.
I'll be riding this one out for now.

Once again, I've heard people changing emails works.
My biggest issue with this as an IT person, is that doing this is an identifier that helps diagnose the issue, not fix it. My original PSN account and/or other Sony accounts have a different email address. That's by design.

Changing emails worked. Now I'm going to change it back.

I was able to change it back to it's original without issue.
It looks to me to affect legacy people that had multiple Sony accounts with different emails. When playstation combined everything, they muffed everything up.

I've had problems with this for a couple of weeks. Sometimes I can get logged in and it won't boot me or I get booted for a while and then eventually it works, but I've tried to finish the Joey Votto game vs. the reds and I've been booted twice. I guess I'll find a game I can play offline. Playstation said they are looking into what is causing the problem, but that doesn't really help me play the game I want to.
