All offline players asked for was some kind of stat grind and some kind of mode to play offline 9 inning games that matter in some way. Not a bunch of gimmicky modes that dont even use our DD team
I pre ordered already, but this is probably the last year I'll be buying at full price.
P.S. screw moments...
It’s amazing how tone deaf they can be sometimes.
From the stream, “We listened to your feedback!” Well yes, but no not really.

- Prestige Diamonds can only be earned by grinding stats online
- If you collect a card then that card is completely unsellable. No quick selling.
- Three Batter minimum applies in BR (I don't play BR and this seems extreme even to me)
Overall, I loved all the new stuff and it pushed me forward to pre-order. The first one is really the only one that kind of tilted me a little.
I think you can still exchange locked cards correct?

The collection one doesn't really bother me all that much. The Prestige Diamonds being locked behind online grinds irked me though. Online already basically had a monopoly on BR rewards, why give them another with this?
I agree with you as far as the having the opportunity to accomplish the stats offline.
Because everyone knows it is going to be just Like the Ken Griffey's grind where you had to get so many HR's in a game and people either walks him or pitched around him so the fact that Online play is required does not make me happy b/c we know how many trolls play online!
They could make it to where you have to play on all star difficulty or higher which is what online play is.

SDS has always favored online play because it makes you feel that you need better players so then you will buy more stubs. It is a cash grab, just like "no quick selling collected cards" is. SDS has never cared much for offline players in DD. These reasons mean that I will be only playing offline leagues this time around. I am not spending extra money just to be regulated to the 2nd class citizen status again.
Seriously? Online has RS, BR, and events. Offline has conquest, affinity, MTO (new in 19), moments (new in 19), and showdown (new in 20). SDS does an amazing job for offline. And even these red diamonds are pretty easy stat grinds online (no absurd single game missions) that you can literally do on veteran difficulty by keeping yourself at the lowest level of RS.
I agree, they have no doubt answered the pleas the offline guys have had. The only thing that is strange is those offline modes that have been added do not utilize your DD cards. Moments has preset players to use, showdown is a BR draft style. So the only mode offline specific for your DD cards is Conquest, other than straight up vs CPU. I do think trying to arrange an online league and kick out users maybe the best thing for Offline guys to do to have something vs CPU that utilizes your acquired cards.
I agree with everything outside of your opening sentence. They 'answered' the pleas for offline folks in the same manner custom leagues answered the pleas of online franchise users (ie. they didn't).
No, just because you don't like the answer doesnt mean it is not an answer.

I think we're pretty much on the same page but I would just tweak this a little bit to emphasize more MEANINGFUL things to do offline (ie. reasons to actual collect cards and improve your team).
There's stuff to do offline, but none of it really matters unless you want to take your team H2H.

I agree we are close, but having more things to do offline to collect rewards should not be viewed as a bad thing, just because they weren't more meaningful or not using your DD cards. I am still happy that I have more things to do offline than just conquest or play vs CPU. MTO was added last year and showdown this year, both are offline modes to earn rewards. So to me that is SDS listening to players like me and doing something. Just because they didnt get it perfect doesnt mean I am going to complain.

With all due respect some people like playing offline with their favorite players just as much as the person who plays H2H. I don't think it is fair how the community lumps people into a category of online or offline player.
The game is made for all baseball fans and Diamond Dynasty is as Advertised "Play with players you want and How you want!" So when people are constantly bagging on people who play offline b/c it isn't competitive mode is really annoying.
I know it wasn't how you meant it but some in the community lump offline players in with people who only play on rookie difficulty blah blah blah type comments when in fact there could be various reasons why people play offline.
I am all for rewarding the good players with good rewards, but it does seclude part of the fan base who are also fans of the good reward players that end up being 200+K on the market and that is why i would scrap Market all together or put a cap on each tier of card.

Listen fellas it's only right certain cards be obtained through online DD..It is a different mode that plays against real competition..What's wrong with having different cards for a whole different mode..Actually it's a whole different game..Def not in a controlled environment, unless you consider the room you're playing in just that..Another analogy is a game being on rails guiding you. The you play GTA and see or WOW and see a wide open world where you'll meet and go against a whole world of competition. So I see nothing wrong with having different cards and or sets I'll be grinding for the same cards you will have and building a perfect team for me to beat some real people..Not knocking off line play at all either my fellow nationers. Just saying theres another side to this game and it's only right it has access to different cards.
I agree, you should have certain online cards. In fact, you already have them. BR Flawless cards. As stated before, the average player cannot obtain them without spending real money
Not true.SDS gave us all the ability to have "end game" team just by the free cards and packs..Conquest and just playing will give you cards. Google how people flip those..Also have moments all over the place.A little luck will make that go even further. I only spent $20 extra I'm stubs..Rest of my team is just from building, flipping and seeing who works best for me. If this was Madden or 2k I would agree, but this isnt. Cant have your cake and eat it too..BTW know what it takes to acquire a BR reward?? Hence why those things are super rare, well they were anyway..

Still better than doing nothing, like what happens to franchise.

Again, SDS treats offline DD players like 2nd class citizens. The reason is because they believe that offline players do not buy as many stubs as online players. And that may even be true. But the REASON it is true is that SDS does not give offline players much to do with the cards. We beg and plead for ways to use our DD cards offline, which would also give offline players incentive to buy stubs. Crickets.

Making Prestige online-only really irks me as well. Chipper's reveal in 19 made me stop playing the game. I understand making it quicker for an online player to gain things that offline players can gain, but putting them out of reach for those offline players pushes them away. To those saying "it's free content, so I can't really complain", I'm glad someone bought the game for you, but I had to pay for mine, which means I'm paying for DD with my $60+ along with all the other content like Franchise and RTTS. Nothing is "free".
It seems like they're trying to push offline players to play online and this is the way they're trying to do it. However, what they don't realize is many offline players don't play online because they aren't as skilled and don't want to lose over and over trying to achieve a goal they'll never accomplish. I'm probably fairly average at the game and Chipper was an impossibility for me. Putting more content out of their reach puts them at an even larger disadvantage when they do try online modes. You aren't pushing those players into playing them more, you're pushing them away from your game.

Yep, chipper really irked me. They already made Kimbrel a unattainable reward, and then pooped on us with chipper. I’ll quit this year too if smoltz Maddux and glavine SS style card is the same.
As for he OP, I only really hate the locked players are non sellable or exchangeable.... I mean what am I gonna do a common card? Look at it?
Also the red diamonds don’t make a difference bc that grind will be pointless once they release a SS card for the same players. So who cares

As for he OP, I only really hate the locked players are non sellable or exchangeable.... I mean what am I gonna do a common card? Look at it?
Also the red diamonds don’t make a difference bc that grind will be pointless once they release a SS card for the same players. So who cares
The way the card structure is set up I think very few players will get signature series cards, are there any in the XP path?
Also Kimbrel was never unattainable, not the case anymore mind you but at his lowest point I’m pretty sure he was just over 100k

The Ryne Sandberg at silver 1 (etc) is a sig (basically the same stats as last year too). I think signs will be just as available as the other 99s, just that there will be far less of them since it appears they chose to make the 99s have a ton of different art this year.

I'm a mostly-offliner and I was able to acquire every purchasable card in the game, including Chipper, Babe, Kimbrell, Gagne: the whole lot of them.
You CAN do it. The question is: how bad do you want to?
