The only reason you can’t exchange or quick sell is to make people buy more cards nothing more nothing less, I don’t even really care about the quick sell thing, to me not being able to exchange locked in cards is a huge L. Basically what you have now is 40 dormant cards that you can’t do anything with, quash said people were abusing the system by locking in and exchanging, my question is how is that abusing the system? You don’t get to keep the cards after exchanging, you’re only abusing the system if the system is you have to buy more cards
I mean, sure it’s an obvious money grab, but considering the quantity of free content they give out (assuming similar to 19), I’ll let this one slide.
MUT/FUT/HUT folks rationalize it the exact same way...
Please never compare the content of the show to those other games.
They're going down the EXACT same path, MLBTS just started a couple years behind.

Yeah, I hate being positive too, I just ignore everything good and fixate on the tiny % that wasn't. #Theglassishalfempty

I was a little underwhelmed by the Prestige Diamonds. Only +3 per attribute? For an Online H2H stat grind, I expected it to be much more significant an upgrade.
I am OK with no more quick selling collected cards. I never quick sold them because I felt wrong and liked being able to go back and look at my collections.
-
I honestly don't have a problem with any of those.
- I play a lot of online so personally, the prestige thing doesn't affect me. I could see myself being upset if I were an offliner.
- Having a giant card collection is a common thing to do irl. I don't have a problem with with the fact that it forces you to perma-collect cards that you lock in. It just makes the decision of whether or not to lock in a card a bit harder.
- The three batter minimum is now an irl baseball rule. We're all gonna have to get used to it. It may be a bit of a learning curve in BR, but it should spice up a mode that has been rather static for the past 4 years.
-
I wish they would of gave the option for offline stat grind. It’s one of the biggest things I wanted. I really don’t play online that much so if that bums me out. If they would of made it be the players full season stats instead of half I would of loved it. Heck, even 2 seasons, I don’t care. Just don’t make me go online to do it. I know I’m not as good as most of you guys on here. I like to just play this game casually and unwind and play while watching Netflix or something.

The EXACT same path..

- Prestige Diamonds can only be earned by grinding stats online
- If you collect a card then that card is completely unsellable. No quick selling.
- Three Batter minimum applies in BR (I don't play BR and this seems extreme even to me)
Overall, I loved all the new stuff and it pushed me forward to pre-order. The first one is really the only one that kind of tilted me a little.
Yeah, they keep saying "play the game the way you want to" then they do that. You just wonder what else will be online only as time goes by.
-
I'm not terribly bothered by the online-exclusive prestige missions. I'm just disappointed that there's still no offline counterpart to ranked seasons - a longer-term mode with the capability of playing proper 9-inning games with my DD collection.
A single-player custom league would be perfect if it:
- counted toward TA/daily innings and evolution missions
- had rewards similar to how MTO does
- didn't require exploiting a loophole to create

If it's just a money grab thing, I can live with that bc I'm not going to be spending thousands on this game anyways, I'm happy with a grind, and they are entitled to make money in the current landscape if people want to spend it.
Now the real question, to find out if SDS is actually trying to break free from the pack, are the gameplay issues going to be addressed? And if it's anything close to the way they talk about the direction they're heading on stream (more skill based), I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are actually a league above all the rest.

If you are just playing offline, you don't really need the blood diamond version of a card. You do after all get to select the difficulty you want to play at most of the time.
When online players are grinding with their 300 star program rewards, offline players who will use Todd Helton (as an example) will make a killing when they upgrade to a newer 1b they want in their lineups. The effect is going to be major profit for offline players able to sell that Helton card and a stub sink for those who grind for the blood diamonds.
-
I think restricting the ability to quicksell collected diamonds will really help the market out. Though it’s amazing to be able to play with whoever you want, last year it was a little too easy to get diamonds because a lot of them could be bought near quick sell value.

It is not about need. Sure I could set the difficulty to rookie and beat the CPU with a bunch of bronze and commons but that is not fun. I get the same satisfaction of pulling or earning a diamond that any online player would get.
At the end of the day we all pay the same admission price.
Now, I realize that the difference between the original diamond and the prestige diamond will probably be minimal and I am sure I would not want to try and grind them all. But if there is, for example, a Red Diamond Pujols card it sure would be nice as a Cardinals fan to be able to get it in some way.

Anyone feel all the things described today were a bit TOO MUCH? Moments for this, moments for that, showdown for this, showdown for that, BR, RS, events, stat grinds, 50 million different style cards all meaning something different (and inflated).
I mean, I probably play more than a lot of people and I play online and offline, but it seems like A LOT.
I just hope they haven’t spread themselves too thin and the product is [censored]. As for those plus-3 red diamonds. I’m not even sure if they’ll end up being worth it (stubs locked in and stat grind) when it sure sounds like there’s going to be millions of “end-game” cards with all these possibilities (red diamonds, signature, prime, award winners, they said LS will somehow stay relevant)
-
And headliners twice a week? That is to be solely for a cash grab. Once a week last year seemed like a good flow. And how many conquest maps this year?

It's a little overwhelming, but I'm ok with it. There is always going to be something to do, something to accomplish everytime I log in.

Last year headliners packs had multiple cards in them. This years will have one headliner per pack just multiple packs per week. Kinda the same thing except you know which headliner you are gambling towards

You are not required to do all of it you know.

The stream blew my expectations away. I absolutely cannot wait for Friday. So much in fact I'm taking the day off to play. My job actually gives us a "floating" personal day so why not burn it up.
If the servers go down I'll cry lol
-
I think it was done the right way. To me there is no "offline prestige" the only way to "prestige" is playing online.
