It's shocking how many dont know we have an edit function.
Not to be that guy, but I heard he was pretty selfish about the streak at the end.

Still an amazing accomplishment in pro sports.I imagine the more consecutive games he played, the harder it got to quit. Imagine playing 2000 straight games then just saying “Ah, screw it. I’m taking a rest day.”
