And now I’m even more confused, because according to bbref he hit .323 with 34 homers in ‘91. While he went .348 with 12 Bombs off lefties, he hit a respectable .315 against righties, which is also where 22 of his 34 total homers came. So I don’t really agree with just 80 power vs RHP. You face righties more than lefties. Slugging percentage is a much better stat to look at for rates ( and ISO even better, but I don’t understand it as well). Case in point - he did much better against lefties in average and slugging, hitting around 30 points higher and slugging 150 points higher.
This is true, I didn’t look at the amount of AB or XBH hits, just took a cursory glance at his splits for ‘91 and his BA and HR. Still feel like there’s gonna be a Signature Series version of both him and Ruth at some point, which is why they’ve left room for improvement.
There will not be a signature version for either of these two guys. They said at the beginning of the year that sig, awards, or prime is a guys best card that will be released. Only Exceptions I can possibly think of are Story/ Machado getting finest upgrades, but there are plenty of other choices for the Padres
Oh, I missed that obviously. Meh, then. I guess this is what happens when we get single year versions of the best legends instead of cards that reflect their whole career. Content seems weird this year in that context, Wonder what they have planned in terms of card type and stats for the rest of the big name legends still to be revealed.
