Top cards that we still need to see:
-
Long post here. Trying to list every Sig Series, Prime or Award Winners card that we still need to see in DD ‘20. Not including TA stage 3 guys like Gwynn since they already got a high diamond. I suppose they still could get one of these series but I doubt it. I was pretty generous with some of the flashbacks we could see in the last category, but keep in mind that some of them might be 90-95 diamonds in line with what guys like Cueto, Murphy and Buehrle got. Let me know who I forgot and I’ll edit them in!

Richie Ashburn hasn't gotten a card in this game. There's a chance his rights lapsed
-
For some reason Spahn didn’t get a good card last year. I’m surprised they didn’t make up for that early like they did with joe Carter.
-
I doubt we see all of those cards, even if we have seen them in years past. It’s pretty obvious that there is a very, very big content drop being held back though, I could add to the list in OP if I thought about it. Based on how good the TA3 drop was and how weak the inning bosses have been this year, I’m expecting this to be either TA4 or a separate program celebrating the history of the show, given it’s an anniversary year and we’ve seen the return of some historic favourites this year. Pepe Alazar, anyone?

Yeah a couple of guys like that: Aparicio, him, Spahn. I included them because they had cards last year.

Agreed, a lot of the names in the second and third list we probably won’t get. At this point in the game it’s 99 or bust. I count 24 sure-fire 99s, which is probably about the amount there should be left, with probably 2-3 innings and another month of RS and maybe one more cycle of Flawless. Also postseason program/conquest extreme. Should work out well for them.

Giambi's lowest card is a 90 or 91. I think most of the guys who you included are included in the HRD packs and that will be there highest card ie Stanton, Giambi Anderson, Tino, Really the only ones from that pack that I can see getting a Sig Awards or Prime would be Griffey and Ripkin. Spahn I am surprised didn't get a sig card last year and we haven't seen him this year so his rights may have lapsed before last years run was over.
With that said back in 2007-2010 before diamond Dynasty they did have a golden era and silver era that had guys on the teams like Satchel Paige, Spahn, Speaker, Hodges, And several other that we havent seen in games since. Paige may be a card they put out next year as it will probably be off the hook with it being the first year of multi platform and the first on the new gen systems.

Amen to Johnny Damon. Make whatever card (SS, hopefully?) have him with the Red Sox. Sweetest you-know-what in the league. I must have him.

I liked his card last year, he had some sneaky pop.

That's what I loved about him. He'd get some singles for me one game, then the next: BOOM! Leadoff homer. Probably the most exciting player I had in my lineup last year.

I completely agree with the HRD pack. Everyone in their likely got their last card other than Griffey and Ripken. As far as those other guys that were in the game from 07-10, licensing rights have gotten a lot more strict since then. Back then there weren’t any real rules on using a players likeness in video games, thus why we still had NCAA football games and such

Yeah definitly has changed but I do see them going all out next year and getting a bunch of rights since they will have a lot more money coming in. Seems like each of the past 3 years there has been a big name legend Ruth Mays, Mantle,

I can definitely see Aaron as the main collection and Jeter I could see being the honus/trout collection?

I think they wasted the opportunity to release all the cards we want by releasing the fake high diamonds. The Future Stars who have never stepped on a Big League diamond. It irks me that the three Henchman this inning are "Future Stars" I am an Old School baseball purest I guess and one of these Fakes will never start on my team. I have them and Prospects but it was only to get Trout. Of course this is just my opinion but I bet some of the other old timers here would agree.

I dunno, I really enjoy seeing guys get called up in real life and knowing who they are. I think they'll scale back the FS cards next year, with this being the first year of minor league licensing rights I think they went all in.
I have no problem with it and enjoy the concept, although I am at tad bit sad knowing that at this point in the year there's a lot of elite cards we may not see until very late in the game cycle.

I don’t hate the concept of future stars, but to give most of them a prospect card and then a FS card just after does seem like a strange one. I like the way the content has been delivered for the most part, it’s not been executed flawlessly, but generally, we’ve seen a clear progression from low diamonds and even high golds at the start of the year, to the point we’re now at where all that’s left are the huge name 99s like Griffey and co.
That’s given most cards a chance to be useable, which was a complaint for me in years past. No point releasing a 95 overall outfielder in July when there’s literally nobody who doesn’t have a far superior team already. Unless you’re a huge fan of that player, the card is defunct at release. The only slight reservations I’ve had are the repeated cards (86 Gavin Lux, 90 Gavin Lux, 85 Gavin Lux. This is pretty unnecessary, SDS) and the fact that we’ve not had a chance to use these all time great cards like 99 Ripken, 99 Griffey and so on. We’ve had diamond versions of many players, but not the best versions. By the time we do get them, will it be too late to accumulate any meaningful statistics with the cards, because the season will be over and the game less relevant? Or should end game cards only be released at the end of the game? I’m not super excited to potentially receive a long grind program in late September or early October that could take many hours of gameplay to complete to earn a card that I’m barely going to have a chance to use before SDS start shoving pre-order propaganda down our throats for ‘21. I play this game a lot and that’s my thinking. If I was a casual player who gets a few games a week in and was desperate for Honus Wagner, for example, I’d probably barely get 100AB all year with my favourite legend, due to the late timing of the cards release.

I get Future Stars. OR Prospects. No need for both, especially with some guys getting one of each.

This is reasonable, it wouldn’t surprise me if they do this next year.
It’s worth keeping in mind they didn’t give every prospect a FS card, just the diamonds
-
For guy who likes legends, even though they do a great job in content, it’s frustrating for me, when there are still over 50 cards I want to see(legends and flashbacks that are in the game just haven’t been released ) , and I don’t think they’re coming. Soria in this event is a perfect example of my frustration... Why... When at least 5 big relief pitchers don’t have diamonds... I sat through two diamond Casey Mizes... The future star henchmen annoyed me to a point where I’ve lost faith in the fact that legends I want will come out before the game goes to its next cycle... It’s a catch 22, because they do a good job in content, but it’s not the content I want.
