Prestige Grind

I have to say the extra challenge of grinding to prestige players has made this game more fun for me. As a mediocre player I have times I look silly hitting against a better player and it makes me happy if one of the guys I’m trying to prestige gets a homer or a coupe of hits. The times my pitcher gets lit up can if I manage to get out of an inning or sneak a couple k’s it really takes some of the sting away. That being said I finally actually prestiged my first guy. 93 Bob Feller. I’m close with about five others but It is such a relief to finally get one on the board. I was afraid my first prestige would be my next xp level up at prestige 5. That would have felt a lot less like I deserved so I’m stoked it didn’t come
that. I’m curious to hear what players other fellow gamers prestiged first and also where you guys stand at the moment for total Amount prestige cards -
I'm with u!!! But I dont play a TON and I'm not a GREAT player. So I've only prestiged Roy Oswalt so far. Im halway to mantle, biggio

Congrats on Feller! The easiest way to prestige is during events. If you’re playing a quick count event, it really helps get your pitchers innings and K’s. That’s how I prestiged Orel and Paxton.
I need 2 more runs with Larry Walker, and he will be done. I prestiged enough players for Trout, but it is a grind, especially trying to prestige batters. I believe the first player I prestiged was Chipper. I also have Cody and Didi done.
Grinding stats does make losing less painful. It is cool you’re having fun, that’s what matters. Good luck on your next prestige! You can do it!!

This is a great tip! Never considered events, especially with quick counts, as an easier way to grind. Thank you

I can only seem to prestige my pitchers lol. I have been working on Didi for awhile. I'm pretty close, but his avg is really starting to drop.

Prestiging players is a lot of fun. Definitely adds to the online grind. I only have 3 done so far though, Paxton, Orel and Belli. Really close to having Ellsbury prestige which has been something I've been working on for awhile and should be really rewarding when I do finally get the blood diamond version.

Events are your friend when going for prestige. Try to get as many as you can in a line up and then you won’t press as much for one single player you tend to play more like you normally Wood because everyone needs stats. I found that when I had one guy in the line up who needed a hit I always tried to hard and couldn’t perform. Sit back relax and try not to put pressure on yourself and the hits will come.

Mine was fof Juan Marichal no one give that guy any love I swear. Also got Big Papi. 12 innings from fof Smoltz.
-
I'm an average at best player, but with the big collections done, I'm considering spending more time grinding out prestige stats. What was your approach? I'm considering making a fully-prestigable team and just playing ranked and getting the states that way naturally as time progresses.
-
Events >>> RS for prestiging. Typically pitching is worse (either because of restrictions or accelerated fatigue) and there is just more overall offense in Events. Signature 2 will be a prestige-fest since its very loose restrictions (basically any "Legend" card so basically all cards of players who no longer play). I'll be working on Frank Thomas, Musial, Rollins and FOTF players since all others have the "red" diamond already.

Definitely doing the Pitchers first. For me Events are a success, if I get hits to contribute to the stats grinds. Losing 80-0 is ok, "getting Hits" is the "W"!

I’m two RBI’s from Larry Walker. Can’t wait man.
When I Prestiged Mantle, the new version is way better than the old one. With some of these prestige’s, the +3 really does make a big difference.

I pretty much have been using this approach the whole time since I completed the live series and the stud TA 3’s. Also I have kept current collecting each inning boss so I have more than enough players to prestige. I am very close to Gwynn and Thome who are my top two consistent performers and I am red hot with Walker. I get Biggio, Sheffield and Mantle enough at bats I should prestige them by the end of the year even though those guys run incredibly streaky for me ( mostly cold lol). Now I start Posada and Carew every game in RS even though they don’t prestige because I like winning and those guys get big hits for me.

This is my first year in DD, and I'm right where you are "mediocre-wise". I didn't play much online until June, so I'm close with several pitchers. My closest hitter is Brian Roberts. At this point, I can't take him out of my lineup until I prestige him, but I hit reasonably well with him.

I get this with the events, I regret not pouring all of my time into true moonshot event because i would have had a half dozen more red diamonds if I did. Every event since I play a couple of games a day because it seems like all the guys I play are impossible to pitch too; uninterruptible in their plate discipline and hitting every not dotted strike 450 feet with a replay to follow. Maybe I just suck but I play better is RS or at least it seams like the matchups are more even skill wise.

I just got Larry’s last run to prestige him. He was on first and Mickey hit a ball off the wall and Larry scored the game winning run. I can’t wait to hit with his prestige card. Hopefully, you get those RBI’s very soon.
-
I might make it by October or November.....maybe. I’ve lost the desire to play online and when I do I get bored with using the same lineup. I’m not even close.......with anyone. And I’m diamond 93

Thanks man! That’s awesome.

if you don't mind a losing record, what I did was play about 3 or 4 inns in ranked then quit. what this does is keep you at a lower player level. where you can hit better. If i was grinding a pitcher I would leave him in until i started geting rocked . worked out good Ihave alot of them done. working on fotf right now.
