Now knowing that MLB the show is coming to different platforms in the future. We know that MLB The Show 2021 is coming to Xbox and Nintendo Switch what is you're take in all of this you think this is a big step forward for the franchise or is it a step back for the franchise. I have mixed emotions about

    • This is not a win for us PlayStation owners that have been playing MLB The Show for years. Extending out means more servers issues crashes Etc.

    • PC players can easily hack that's going to be a huge problem for us playstation user and console users

    • I don't know if this is the positive thing or negative thing it just feels that a bigger community is not what we need will this mess up gameplay

    • I think that They should have kept it as it was. Forget about other platforms and just keep doing what you were doing why change and make this move because of the new gen if Xbox was crying for a MLB game they had RBI Baseball

I don't know what holds for the future for MLB The Show franchise with this move I hope it don't backfire on them I'm a loyal customer to San Diego Studios and every year I wish not but the best for this franchise and to get better year in and year out 🤞

As a PC gamer I would love a good baseball game on the PC.

You’re talking about it as if SDS had a choice though. What’s more likely the case is that MLB demanded the game be multi-platform for SDS to be able to renew their license with MLB.

I don’t see the game ever coming to PC though. Using a mouse to hit would be incredibly easy, and automatically create an advantage for those players.

I think the game being multi-platform will lead to SDS making more profits, which could potentially lead to more developers being hired, which could then possibly lead to a more well-refined game overall.

Do we know if there will be cross platform play? Maybe they'll have a different set of servers for each platform.

They have already started hiring devs to port the game over to xbox.

Using a mouse to hit? you do know people on PC have controllers too right? I wouldn't play sports games with a mouse and keyboard, i got my xbox controller for that.

If they make the game incompatible with a mouse, then I have no issues. Using a mouse to hit would be similar to using a mouse to aim in an FPS in terms of the advantage it would give.

With Zone hitting it would be incredibly easy to hit the ball with a mouse. You may prefer controller but using mouse would give the people the best chance to win

I hope it isn't cross platform with PC, that'd be a nightmare. PC gamers will 1000% render in 8 bit or something stupid like that so every pitch looks like slow pitch softball on any difficulty. It's too easy to jerry rig unfair advantages via hacks/mods in PC gaming that console users can't.

I’m sorry OP but you are dead wrong. With so many more players exposed to this great franchise, with all the new sales and DD money rolling in, that’s nothing but GREAT for Sony, and SDS! Allows them more financial backing and support to make this great game even better.

Also, if they are really smart, they go with the current trend, and most definitely future trend of full cross play. The MLB the Show community will increase by a huge magnitude, and that’s great for us all no matter where you choose to play this great franchise.

Lmao. I guarantee I may be gaming longer than you’ve been alive. Gamers having more choices on where to play any game on any platform they choose, and if cross play is enabled having that games community expand exponentially is nothing but good.

I’ve been playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare on my PC, and it’s awesome seeing all the PS and Xbox logos in the pre game lobby. Having more players to play with and against and a lively community is nothing but good. But then again maybe you haven’t been gaming that long.

Very mature. No substance of a response, just a vane attempt at trying to belittle someone. Well, this conversation is over, because you totally missed the point, and you have zero substantive response.

It is great for SDS, but I'm pretty sure Sony as a whole would rather it be a console exclusive, it's hard to say it's "great" for Sony. They want you on their platform, having THE exclusive baseball game sells consoles. I know it did for me, and because of that I've bought plenty more PS games since I chose the PS because of MLB The Show.

Basically, great for SDS and consumers, probably not ideal for Sony.

You do know Horizon zero dawn is coming to PC? And other Sony first party titles are rumored to also?

Yes, this does benefit Sony in a VERY big way. They will sell WAY more copies of the game AND expose all those new customers to Diamond Dynasty, where they will make a TON.

This isnt 1985 anymore people. Software sales, and in game digital content and purchases are where revenue is made. These companies make almost no money off selling hardware. In the past they’ve even sold at a loss.

Also, just like 3rd party developers, Sony, MS, Nintendo all get royalties from said 3rd party multi platform developers for each sale on their respective hardware. Sony will make money off each copy sold on any other console or PC, then count that DD money too. You better believe it’s good for Sony.

Except it's still proven that exclusive games make platforms way more successful, or did you think everyone uses the EPIC store because of it's great functionality?

Well hopefully with all that extra platform money ain’t with DD money, we can really get a fleshed out online franchise.

So you don't want other players who don't own a Playstation not be able to play The Show and expand the player base? Pretty shelfish.
