So I bought Lofton and Gagne off the market when the packs first dropped yesterday. I kept looking at that Ryan card because I need SP. Finally bit the bullet and sold Dibble (my bullpen is loaded) and bought Nolan Ryan. First game he pitched 7IP 2H 1ER 14K. A little wild, but he throws
. Id say yes he's worth it. -
Same story with Ryan every season. He’s very had to control and good opponents will destroy him.

Yeah I wouldn't pay 15K for him, he'll either walk people or give up a homerun. Unless you're playing someone who can't hit a fastball, he's gonna be a nightmare to pitch with like every year.

I’m a huge angels fan (sad I know lol) so I want to get him regardless. Do we anticipate that his price should drop then?? Or possibly go up after Monday when the market goes back to normal?

I'm an Angels fan as well so I feel your struggle. I actually anticipate the prices of the rare guys to go up just like Banks and Chapman did, because of the scarcity of the Beach Ball packs. So if you really want him, you should probably buy him now.

I've had decent success in All-Star ranking with the 92 Ryan who doesn't have a sinker, so I definitely want to try this one out. The 92 version does have terrible control and with only 4 pitches, and I don't real use the 2 seam, so 3 pitches, he can get predictable. I think the sinker will change that though

Alomar , pudge , Wagner - it’s happening , same as it did w ducks - all the guys in rare are excellent but leaving something to be desired - elite teir will be truely end game

Wait and buy him. These are only base and rare rounds. Mccutch greinke were rare rounds in Ducks pack and we’re going for 60k before the elite round drop. So I expect an elite round to be added in a few weeks and Nolan can be had for 50k I would say. Only one that intrigued me was Hornsby!

This Nolan Ryan card is way better than last year ...way better. I can control Ryan better than Kerry Wood. If you throw 85% Fastballs he will get crushed.
I have been able to dot with Ryan’s curve this year ...I start most hitters backwards ... sometimes they don’t even see the cheese.
Loving the card ...once the packs are gone ....his price will shoot up like Chapman.
