Come on SDS. What about gravity [censored]? What about perfect timing and release on pitches NOT landing within 12 inches of where you aimed?

    That's great news about hitting.

Let's get on the pitching please. Thanks.

... guess you tuned out late. They talked about a new quirk for guys that regularly throw 100+.

Maybe it's because I was working and my attention slipped, but that entire part flew over my head. All I gathered from that segment was "look, Noah Syndergaard throws 96mph sometimes and he throws 100+ sometimes too", which I thought we already had. Did I miss something?

When you get perfect release and perfect timing while aiming in the top left corner of the strike zone, your pitch can still trail into the RH batter's box.

    How about fixing that?

They pointed out that players such as Hicks, Alvarado, Chapman etc will regularly throw over 100 mph with their respective offerings (like Hicks sinker in '19 was 96 but in real life it was 102+ and this perk reflects this now).

This is great and cool and all but I am with the OP. I want my pitch to go where I throw it if I get a good/ good in pure analog. I like the guys who sit 102 in real life to do that in this game but would rather see development around the pitching engine.

I fear until they get a chance to reconfigure the pitch input method (similar to changes made to button accuracy for 2020) there is still going to be an element of RNG factored in on pitch inputs.

I've used analog pitching systems exclusively since first done in EA sports NCAA Baseball through the life cycle of MLB 2k and since I started the Show in 14.

Pure analog pitching needs an overhaul. It's really out dated and easy to replicate. The only hard thing about it is if the yellow line disappears. Even then, it's not hard for me to make a mental note using something in the background to remember where it should be. There's no difference in input to distinguish pitches and the timing mechanism never changes.

Ideally they would incorporate a system similar to MLB 2k requiring multiple input types depending on the pitch. They should also do away with the ball marker that lets you select the exact location you want every pitch. In previous versions of the Show and in 2k you had arrows showing the amount of movement and your pitch placement was based on your judgement.

I get people may not want to do all the different motions 2k had. However, even just implementing a few wrinkles could drastically improve the system. Fastball is the same down then up; change ups start up then down; and breaking [censored] can go either side to side or diagonal to diagonal.

The skill Gap gets introduced to pitching and the RNG will not need to be as prevalent.
