Trout Collection

For those that have completed, or looked into completing this collection, is it possible to get it done without having to grind for anything, offline or on? I have the LS collection complete so I've got all the cards/rewards that come with that. Does anyone know if everything else I would need could be purchased from the market?
-
Define "grind for anything".
If you look at the requirements, there's 816 possible combinations of vouchers/nameplates/collect cards
-
Yeah, I'll look more into it once I have some time on my PS4. I guess what I mean by "grind for anything", is doing TA's or anything else like that, that would earn cards are that are not attainable by simply purchasing them on the market.
-
I need 3 cards for Wander Franco and the remaining Topps Now cards. That’s it.
-
Seems like “grind” is the very definition of completing this collection. I’ve been playing since day 1 and only have 10 of the 15 done.
-
Hopefully I can get enough cards off the market to finish it off but I'll have to do the research once I get on my PS4. If I remember correctly from the Honus collection last year, I did the LS collection, purchased everything I could from the market and then had to do a few TA exchanges to get a few other cards that were needed. I've got a decent amount of stubs saved up from flipping and really haven't bought any cards in a while hoping that I could buy whatever was needed for the Trout collection.
-
Here's where I'm at:
Acquired Already:
- Wander Franco (Diamond Prospect)
- Blake Snell (Players League)
- Rookie
- Breakout
- All-Star
- Veteran
- Postseason
- Signature
- Prime
- Monthly Awards
- Cover
- Gold/Tebow Prospects
Left to do (in order of probable likelihood):
A. Team Collector (Face of the Franchise) - need 30, have 27. Problem is, I'm too much of a cheapskate to exchange for those last 3 at current bronze prices.
B. Awards - need 15, have 12. Musial + Upton + Salvador Perez from the next free DotP pack.
C. Prestige - need 5, have 2 (Ryno, Oswalt) - 15 Event starts away from Feller, 12 Event starts away from Paxton, 20 appearances or so away from RiveraD. Topps Now. Won't be obtainable until August. And even then, gonna be ridiculously expensive if history is any guide.
E. Future Stars - need 30, have 5. This ain't happening till September at the earliest.
F. HRD - Not quite ready to drop 420K on 9 cards that I'll never use. -
You only have to do 15 of these correct?

you can complete this by grinding or buying off the market or a combination of both. It is very easy. If you have played a decent amount this year you will probably be pretty close to having a complete once you actually look at it on your console. If you have a plethora of stubs and don't want to grind anymore you can always do the team affinity exchanges in order to get some of those cards for the collection. You don't have to grind the stupid endings or do showdowns you can just use cards for the exchanges which will then unlock the cards for the collection. If that makes sense to you I was just kind of rambling

The things you would have to pay for it would be the home run Derby, and some signature or awards cards mainly. The other ones are attainable through grinding or packs. Depends on if you sold everything out of packs or if you kept everything. There's been a lot of prospect pax and players choice packs and all that not to mention event in World Series rewards and inning rewards along the way.

Thanks for the response man, I appreciate it. Yes, that makes sense to me. I've played a decent amount but not a ton, and I mainly stick to playing RS so haven't really gotten any cards that would be available from the other game modes. Good to know though that the collection can be done from simply buying cards off the market. I know it'll be expensive so I'll probably wait a little until we see some of these prices drop. Thanks again for the info!

do not buy anything now everything is so inflated. Give it a week or two especially since the stub sale just ended. I had too many cards and I literally made about a million stubs because prices are ridiculous. I cannot say it any louder, do not buy now.

Yeah, 100% agree. I've made some good stubs flipping cards this past week or so too. I'm in no real rush, although I would like to give that Trout card a try. My OF is already pretty solid with Gwynn in LF, Mickey in CF, and Walker in RF. Once these prices come back down to reality I'll start buying some of these cards I need and eventually get it done.

He is a beast. Anyone that claims his live series is just as good, does not have this card. He is that good. He will replace gwynn nicely. I love walker but didnt lock him in to the collection because i may sell him when griffey or mays drops. Trout is in the OF for good with prestige mantle. Good luck, he's worth it. Plus you get tons of stubs and xp along the way.

Having the prospects and HR Derby completed already helped me immensely. I spent about 400k a few days before he dropped buying what I thought would be needed. Actually guessed right on FOTF and over bought a little with the everything else.
Felt great to get Trout in 5 mins. Felt like all my grinding this year was worth. Honus was a pain in the *** last year. This Trout collection was for people that have put in the time this year. I was super happy I didn’t need to drain all my remaining stubs (and then some), like Honus last year.

I'm probably a few weeks away from MVP Trout depending on how much I feel like grinding team affinity but from playing against him he def seems pretty OP from what I'm seeing. In only a handful of appearances he's jacked balls that really shouldn't be hittable.

I’ve been away from the game for awhile and just recently getting back into it. A few questions on completing collections for Trout:
How do you get the “Universal Profile Nameplates”?
How do you acquire the Diamond Prospects? Thanks

Diamond prospects in packs. They were handing them out like candy now they are overpriced in the market. Universal profile is the three pre order cards, harper, griffey and judge. Theybwere available in the reward paths i think.
