Send out a DLC pack that includes every team's TV broadcaster. I'd pay $5 for Drew Goodman or a classic Vin Scully.

That's a great idea, I'd love to have Harry and Whitey (only "older" Phillies fans will get this reference) call the games for me.
It would be pretty canned, but I'm so over the "swing and a LONG DRIVE to DEEP left field" and I'm getting all excited thinking I hit a homer and it turns out to be just a fly ball to left field, not even reaching the warning track.

i agree... i wouldnt mind the SF Giants krukow and the other guy, NYY Kay, just some variety... it cant be to memory, Call of Duty patches are 10,20, 40 Gigs !! push the envelope

I'm pretty sure that would be such a high cost and time to be worth doing for the company. I could see maybe different languages but not a bunch of different people.

I agree, cost:benefit isn’t justified.
I get the appeal of having well known people doing the commentary but given they’re probably paying by the word or something like that, the money would be better spent getting some cheap nobodies with equally great voices and appeal and improving the variety of commentary in the game.

Memory limitations probably, might see it on the ps5 though.
Not memory but storage space. Which I guess is long term memory so yeah you’re right. And the extra time, cost and code to set it up. Actually the code would be quite simple if done efficiently. That is, if the logic didn’t change and all it did was play a different clip for the same situation.
So it’s really just storage for the sound clips, time and cost to get the recordings done, and probably a recode of the logic as I would guess it has been coded since day one to draw from only a single set of clips (English). This would go for in-game commentary, PA announcer, inside the show and the non-dynamic tutorials and RTTS narration.
Given that there will be much more real-time use of the storage device that will free up a fair bit of RAM so I’m guessing the way commentary is coded is going to change anyway (not in 21 but possibly in 22).
At the very least, there needs to be some comentario español.
well thats why for the FIFA series on PS3 you can download additional languages, the same for NBA 2k20, last years game you can have Chinese or spanish, you just download it as add on content. I dont think its memory, Call of Duty is pushing updates at 10 Gigs and over, so its more of the content team, not hardware..
By memory, referring to RAM (short term memory), not permanent disk storage (long term memory). Updates increase a game’s size on disk; data is loaded from disk into RAM for use during gameplay.
As an example, I’m guessing all play by play lines and all player name audio (only players who are in the teams playing) are loaded into RAM at the start of each game (or series in the case of RTTS).

If SDS can add these guys the game would feel alive
https://youtu.be/C4ee_OdHEj0Would be cool to see more commentary squads involved in the game Heidi kind of gets on my nerves too

they should have commentary like how it was on FIFA 08-12 for the ps3, you could download the French, German, Spanish, Portugese, Brazil, Mexican spanish for commentary.... why not do the same ?? Have a 2 man booth, 3 man or pick who you want, say Krukow and the other commentator, the Yankees Kay and David Cone, or even have players guest commentary as well.... They have it for NBA 2k, FIFA, Japanese Baseball you can choose 9 different commentators...
So why not??
Exactly.

That would be a great attraction for next year's edition for those with ps5s. Personally, I'd love to see Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper in there. But if they could assemble dialog for Stapleton and Sciambi, maybe, just maybe, they could dig into the archives and do Vin Scully.

Yeah my nerves as well -
I liked the commentators update this year. I thought they said they had a lot of commentary. Still waiting to hear it all. Just keep hearing the same lines all the time though.
-
Yeah it gets boring listening to them in 22. So repetitive for now
