Rivera...Is There a Trick?
-
is there a trick to his card or does it just play bad in general? I had early success, but he has cost me like 3 RS games over the last few days. Granted, I have been stuck in AS he!! This season.
Does he play much better on HoF? Does his prestige card pitch well?
Thinking of throwing him back into the pond.
-
I think he's dirty in RS. Not sure I have a trick, but I use a heavy diet of cutter and sinker with some sliders and changes thrown in depending on how the opponent is swinging.
-
Yeah same here Rivera has sucked for me all the time too smh
-
He plays well for me, he actually has reverse splits for me, lefties are batting under .200 against him while righties are batting around .220. The cutter is the best pitch, I use it a lot.
-
Hes awesome if you use him right
If your pitching to strike people out you will get rock you pitch to cause weak contact you will do fine
Cutters in on the hands for days
-
He's also over exposed.
Every goon has used him so much, it's like batting practice.
It's the Kluber effect. Guys using Kluber still should expect to get smacked.

Without looking up his career stats, I want to say that righties hit him better in his career than lefties.

His card is booty
-
The card is buns. Anyone with decent skill can destroy him. All his pitches come in flat and the cutter is so obvious. Sell him while you can.
-
I still used the early season version of him we got with the preorder and have been looking to replace him for awhile. Just did with Edwin Diaz from the July POTM program.
I wasn't happy with him. I can imagine the letdown for getting a supposed endgame version that sucks. -

Yeah I hit better from the right side against him it’s crazy lol
-
I've had pretty good luck with him. Against lefties I pitch inside and for my strikeout pitch I usually go slider down and in just off the plate. Against righties I go high and low and for the strikeout pitch usually change-up down and away just under the outside corner of the zone or sinker down and in off the corner.

Not so crazy, cutter vs righty is into their bat unless it's out of the zone, but to a lefty everything is in at them locking them up or back door making them reach

There is a trick. Sell him and get walker if you don't already have him
