I wish this was the 14-15 Royals but it is not. I wish we had players like the Yankees. Then I would be predicting about a 42-18 record or something. The Royals are a bad team. Starting pitching, bullpen and lineup are all bad. Really once you get past Merrifield, Mondesi and possibly Soler (if they ever deaden the ball, he becomes completely useless with poor contact and defensive skills) , the linueup is really poor and will struggle to score runs. They will finish behind the Twins, Indians and White Sox in the Central. Tigers will be very close record wise.

I predict a tight race between the Cubs/Cardinals/Brewers and Reds. However if the Cubs can get off to a fast start I predict they can win at least 30/35 games which should be good enough to contend. They still have a core of players that want to win and a good starting rotation if healthy and I think if Bryant leads off it could work out. It's going to be a big fight for first. Looking forward to finally seeing some baseball. Can't wait.

I'd love to say the Reds are going to run away with it, as much as i hate the DH, it is a blessing for the Reds crowded OF. The pitchers need to live up to expectations and Votto cant be the same Votto hes been last two years.

Every team in the central divisions plays the Tigers/Royals/White sox/ Pirates 25+ times. White sox are easily the best of those 4 teams, but the cubs, cardinals, Reds, brewers, and twins will feast on these teams. It comes down to who beats each other the most times

38 wins behind continued success with pitching and defense.

Tigers have a chance to run the table I feel, possibly 0-60

Very true but Covid will play a factor. Baseball players will catch this. Just depends on who and what team. Teams will also have a much higher sense of urgency to win than in a 162 game season. Pitching is always big but I think the deeper pitching staffs will have a huge advantage.

Saw one of the guys on MLB network stating the Royals could be a surprise team. Really? How do you have a job on MLB network? It pains me to say but they are not good. Back in the 90's again. They desperately need their minor league pitchers to be impact performers within 3 years. Still very short of hitters in both majors and minors.

Yeah, how do you think they win 25, lol.

Rockies 38-22... They always seem to have a pretty decent start and then right around the 60-70 game mark they will go and lose 15 out of 20 games and be 7 games back of the wild card when they were just 2 games up.. so I bet they make the post season and lose in either the wild card play-in game or in the first series

I'll give my Cubs 25-35 are pitching especially the bullpen only got worse in the offseason and we were bad last year statistically. Very disappointing trend since are Ring

I wouldn't count on the Jays rolling over so easily those will be tough games for the Red Sox. I can see them splitting their season series. The Jays are one team I think that could surprise.

Yankees look strong but their schedule is tough. 36-24 if they stay healthy. This thread has me excited for some baseball!!!!

Giants 19-41

Posey ends up opting out and the pitching suffers as a result. Barry Bonds, Pence and Fat Panda end up leading the geriatric offense as Zaidi decides to leave the youngsters off the “active” field to keep them healthy for ‘21 and beyond.
They beat the Rockies, D’Backs and Mariners a handful of times. They squeak a few out vs Oakland and SD. They take 1 or 2 games v the Angels and Dodgers.

If Votto scuffles, move Moose to 1B and put VanMeter or Senzel at 2B. The OF is an embarrassment of riches. Castillo and Gray will both be sold, and Bauer will be better at full health.

Man, I can't wait to see these guys play. Go Reds!

In the last few years the A's have had a habit of starting slow but then making the playoffs cause they get hot in the second half. Since there is no second half this year, I think 30-30 sounds about right.

I agree, it is impossible to not be excited for this team on paper. I agree if Votto is done Moose at 1B and Senzel at 2B still leaves a lot in the OF. And the SP if they perform up to expectations are great. Castillo should get better, and Gray has to continue what he did last year. Bauer's history says he is a 5 ERA guy, he needs to revert back to his one best year. The Pen also has a lot of ??? The team can very easily win the Central and be a contender, or be extremely underwhelming do what i think and not even cone come close to competing.

The beauty of the short season is it allows for luck, a lot of it, by reducing the sample size... every team in the league, even the very worst, has an outside shot because any team can beat any team on any given day, and over a typical 162 game season, we will certainly know who the best teams are, but over 60, we really won't. And that luck is exactly what the Tigers will need early on, for if they get off to a fluky hot start, they could decide they have a shot if they bring up some of the young aces (Mize, Manning, Skubal) they have been grooming and go for it. I could see them at 36-24 just as easily as I could see them at 24-36. And of course, once you're in the playoffs, it's essentially the role of an 8 sided dice, because over 7 games, it's purely the luck of the draw.

This only plays if both teams have talent. For instance, the only way the Royals are beating the Yankees for than 2 times out of 10 is if most the Yankees get hit with covid. Even then, the Yankees taxi squad would still probably have a winning record.
