Gaming Screen - TV vs Monitor?
-
What’s up guys?
I’ve been curious about what people recommend to play on. I currently have a 55 inch HiSense which picture and quality is great but sometimes the screen being so big can make it harder to play. My other TV is a 2010 32’’ Samsung (HD/horrible quality), but great size.
I’m looking for recommendations on what to buy to have a combined great picture/quality, but smaller size, to see the ball better and more clear.
Do I want a computer monitor or just a smaller tv? I’ve also contemplated getting a whole set up for Twitch. I currently don’t have a full desktop, just a MacBook, but may venture into a full computer set up.
What do you guys think?

Get a ASUS or BenQ monitor 24-27in with at least 144hz so it will be PS5 ready or wait til then to get one with hdr

If you want a big screen experience with decent input lag, I suggest a TCL 5 series or similar. They’re pretty inexpensive and in game mode, come in around 10-12 ms.

"PS5 ready". Most developers are actively aiming for 30FPS still. They don't prioritize performance, and most consumers don't either. Wanting high and stable framerates is a niche compared to pretty lighting effects at an "acceptable" ~30FPS

OP should also know that manufacturers DO make larger monitors that can fit your wants, but you're likely going to be paying a premium on features you'll likely never use, whereas the difference in size between your 32 and a 27" monitor wouldn't be a huge downside

I got a 65" Samsung fancy expensive tv and in game mode its fantastic. I don't know why you would want the play on a small screen sitting at a desk. Seems like work to me.

I have one of the best rated gaming TV's, the Samsung QLED Q70R, and also a 28" ASUS 1 ms gaming monitor. When I try play on the gaming TV I can't catch up to anything. If you like a big screen, go for the TV. If you want to actually be able to hit fastballs, go with a monitor. I play on my monitor all the time as the difference is definitely noticeable.

I've enjoyed my monitor so far an ASUS 1ms 27 inch...I seem to catch up to fastballs and pick up on sinkers better than my 70 inch tv...

I have a 65 Samsung with 10ms input lag, and have never experienced being behind on a fastball.

24"monitor. It changed my life.
