Events don't matter for wins. Rewards are complete bollocks and do not have rewards which reflect appropriately, the time sink they require.
Working prestige stats and maybe popping a 12 game streak if you get lucky.
Intentional walks in a moonshot event though? Meh
Intentional walks for prestige stat players? Double meh

While I did walk Belli and didi yes, I never walked Snyder. I walked them to set up the force at home and to try and make a pitching change. And yes I did tell you I IBBed them this was after you were very toxic basically telling me just how much better you were and that I walked them on purpose. I played the game straight up.

Nope, it was me and I'll own up to it, and share my side of the story, I've got nothin to hide.
pootiecat got butthurt that he was losing in the event and intentionally walked bellinger, didi, and snyder to keep me from getting prestige stats; Even admitted so in a psn message after the fact.
Then he goes and replays a homerun while down 9-0, which by itself aint a problem- though it's definitely silly.
But, you do BOTH those things in a stupid event game meant to grind prestige stats, and I'm gonna let you know about it and rub it in a little.
Yea, I def let pootiecat know I beat him after that [censored].
Was I decent to pootiecat, definitely not because pootiecat wasn't being decent to me.
Was I being childish? Yea, most definitely. But that's what you get for being childish yourself pootiecat. You aint innocent in this.
I've said my peace...feel free to keep sharing one side of the story pootiecat
You intentionally walked two batters immediately after a pitching change to set up a force at home down 6-0? Just stop already. You tried to get support and got called on it.

Don’t forget the HR replay down 9-0

Seems like everyone got so caught up in prestiging their players that everyone completely lost sight of what the point of events are in the first place:a casual online experience without the BS of RS and without the sweatiness of BR. I understand wanting to prestige players, but both intentionally walking prestige players and boosting/begging for stats is ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if the rewards for this event are garbage or not, both sides of this post are ruining the game for people that just want to play, which is more than the posters of here and Reddit that think the +3 matters for literally anything but fielding

This is exactly the dumb stuff that comes with online stat missions, people getting upset and deliberately walking or beaning players. I swear I thought SDS learned all this in 17 when you couldn't see a good pitch to hit with BO Griffey. Yes this comunity is toxic, but SDS should've know this type of stuff would happen.

I would suggest just turning messages to friends only. Despite years and years of the garbage I heard on halo, COD and Madden funny enough MLB the show's community was the one that finally made me decide to shut off messages.
I've had messages turned on for friends only since I used to get hate/racist/death threats/git gud/scamming messages daily on FIFA. So, I cant compare to the level of messages on MLB, but I find it hard to believe its worse than that game communities toxicity.
Edit: I played FIFA 18 yesterday, and still got a hate message in a friend request.

You both sound like children. It's a video game. Grow up

Bad kitty.

Lmao well then. That’s what you get for whining and not telling the whole story... but idk who would be proud of what you did besides a 10 year old.

Dude...people say other communities are more toxic, but I share your experience. Never even thought about turning off messages before this year's game. Since I have, it's become a much more pleasant experience.
What’s crazy is I initially had to turn my messages off playing 2k. People would always say crazy things after losing. I need to turn them back on for this game I think it’d be fun to add a little toxicity to my life.

Just matched up with a WS player in the event. I played it out like I do all my games. Trying to get stars and online stats. The guy absolutely laid down the smack on me. After the game he messaged me just going off about how he throttled me. I mean seriously wow man.
I turned my messages off in '17.

I think more people would be focused on the event if there were cards as rewards not just packs

I really doubt it. People were doing the same thing in the switch it up event and Murray was a pretty solid reward
-
Wait, is the event meant to get prestige, or does it happen to be set in a way that makes it easier to prestige? There's a difference.

I like the cards though. They should maybe make it easier to get them or make the games always 3 innings. What makes you play events?

Events has always been my favorite mode. Short games, you get to use the lineup of your choice and you don’t have the BS or RS of facing the same pitchers every game. I do get where people are coming from wanting to prestige their guys but imo the +3 boost isn’t make or break like people make it out to be. It takes away some of the appeal of having a prestige card when people boost for it. I don’t like online missions at all because of this toxicity, but the gotta have it now mentality completely ruined events
