I'm not a fan of his, but gave major props to him for his decision to pay his MiLB clients that were released.
Now, I see that the MLBPA has told him not to do that? WTH is going on around here? They are wanting a higher percentage from the owners, but at the same time decide that the agent of minor league players shouldnt pay them?
If the agent is paying them, then MLB is off the hook. MLBPA doesn't want MLB off the hook.
It’s more that him paying them would count as a gift/bribe by the mlbpa, therefore violating an agreement. It sucks, but it makes sense.
May be seen as a way to get more clients as well
They're already his clients, doesnt seem shady to me at all, and I dont like the guy.
It's a bad look for the MLBPA to be the one vetoing the minor leaguers getting paid (no matter who is paying them).
