Yeah, @halfbutt I was in the same spot, those pitches were coming in hot. I played it more as a test, I should have worked the count more, played smarter. But the individual missions don't seem so bad, I'm hoping tonight I can get to Felix with 10-12 runs, be patient and scrape together a victory.
Ellsbury and Mitch Haniger are beasts in this mode. I'm glad they have added some pitching missions, worth taking a gold SP/CP now.
I’m back for my second try with 10 runs. First two at bats, Jacoby and Chipper both work count to 2-2 and 3-2 then good/good right to a fielder. Here we go again. The pci seems bigger this time...
Good luck, hope you can smack him around and get the W!
Got it done this time with one out to go. There were a couple diving plays preventing me from scoring or advancing on well hit balls.
One base running gaff where my runner at second watched the ball bounce off the wall instead of scoring the winning run was particularly egregious and that ended up forcing the batter back to second for an out.
Definitely the pci seemed much bigger this time so either I just had a better draft or was really hungry the first time. Glad that’s over.

I haven't made it out the 600's in RS yet, currently around 680. Previous years I've been in the high 800's max. I beat this Showdown on the first try. I went in down 11-15 and I'm also terrible against Felix. Best pointer for this one is take your walks. He walked my first two batters and fell behind 2-0 on my third. I sat on a fastball down the middle and got on with a 3-1 count and hit a 3 run HR. Got a few outs before getting another baserunner and I bunted him to second to stay out of the DP. Hit a walk off HR with Austin Meadows.
I know it sounds redundant because everyone says this, but with the final showdown boss, you really have to work the count and take your walks. Another strategy I use every time is to get 2 speed guys with great bunt ratings. I lead one off and go for a drag bunt and steal second pretty much every time. Next time that guy hits I wait for a strike before trying to bunt again if no one is on first. Final boss is all about getting baserunners on and keeping the pressure on them. Use your perks to your advantage. If you don't have oppo taco, try laying off away pitches because those seem to be the ones where the CPU will make great plays when you slap the ball oppo. If the take off or blast off, whatever it's called perk is available, I take it every time. I never take the ones for errors, nerves of steel, or inner peace, they all seem useless. Hopefully these are a few things that may help.
You say you take two speed guys, one leadoff and bunt, steal. What about 2nd speedster?
I may try it out.
If they’re someone who is a bronze or silver a lot of times I leave them on my bench for a pinch runner. If it’s a decent hitter I’ll slot them in the 2 hole where I could get 2 runs early if I get them both on and steal again. The last option I go with is putting them before the pitcher slot where I usually have a slow runner and power hitter.

Yeah the speed guys sure come in handy for avoiding double plays.

First attempt stupidly lost to archer, and second attempt after being frustrated skipped right away and started 0-15, I took pitches till 2 strikes got him down to half before started hitting him. Then at 12-15, almost out of energy at over 150 pitches flew out to right with go ahead run at plate lol dang

I really struggled with Torre. I am thinking Ellsbury might be a good pick. Love Felix however.

I am not the person to ask however just stating my opinion. Doesn’t shock me.

I didn't draft the greatest team but tried to load up on lefties since I knew Felix was looming.
I think I passed 9/12 (failed a few pitching ones--blew a save & gave up a hit). It was like 11-15 going into the Felix showdown.
He carved me up the first five or six batters---struck out three of the first four and walked a guy.
Suddenly the 2nd time through the order everything clicked and I mashed four straight HR's to win (Jose Ramirez, Ellsbury, Justin Smoak, Robby Cano) -

This was the first one I breezed through. Got to the Boss at 14-15 and won swinging away with 17 outs left.
These shouldn’t be super hard when they are so time consuming. This one felt perfect.
-
It's super easy. 1st inning took me a few tries, 2 was one go, 3rd took me a few and 4th was one go. 4th was by far the easiest showdown yet.
-
I usually struggle in showdowns but this one was easy and I did have Mantle, I went into Final showdown 15-13. with 20 outs left I hit a two run shot with Mantle to tie 1-15 but after that it was hard. I won with 2 outs left. it was easy getting to the final boss
-
I usually suck at those showdowns, but last night was the night.. Finished the 4th Inning Showdown at the first try and finished an AL Showdown right after...
-
I actually beat the 4th Inning Showdown last night myself! Went into Felix with the score 15-11, managed to take some pitches, get a few key hits, Yelich hit a 2 run bomb and IV Cano drove in the winning run. The infield was in, the runner from 3B went, Cano hit one up the middle but the 2B got it and threw home, but my guy was safe.
Was stunned, to say the least. I only had like 5 outs left, which is pathetic for only needing 5 runs.
-
I personally finished it first try, completing all the missions!
-
Wasn't that bad. Needed 6 runs and Thames hit a grand slam to finish it with 15 outs to go. Can't wait to get that card on my team
