Favorite player growing up?
-
Dale Murphy as a child. Albert Belle when I was a teenager.
-
Eric Davis. Man what could have been if he could have stayed healthy. His 87 season was crazy, first 30 Homer 50 steal season and he did it in like 120 games.
-
When I was. 8 I saw this rookie on TV sprint down to 1st on a walk. It was Pete Rose. He was my favorite. I also loved the Giants and Willie Mays and Willie McCovey were great and I especially enjoyed the rivalry against the Dodgers
-
I'm a Mets fan but Kirby Puckett was my favorite player. Porbably one of the most clutch hitters I've ever seen and great fielder as well.

I saw this being discussed in another thread a thought it deserved its own.
I’m a lifelong Cubs fan and loved Mark Grace and Greg Maddux. I followed the Braves closely as well after Maddux left and really enjoyed watching Chipper too. I was lucky to have WGN and TBS available to watch these guys all the time.
FYI, I’m 36.
"The Kid" Ken Griffey Jr!!!

My favorite player growing up was probably Pedro Martinez
-
Don Mattingly was always my favorite. We didn't have cable when I was a kid so I used to get up every morning and check the box scores in the paper to see how he did the night before

Kenny Loften, Omar vizquel, Charles Nagy

Manny Ramirez... he's from my neighborhood.

Still growing up. Albert Almora Jr. I was lucky enough to go to a game where he got the winning home run, and had 3 hits with a sac fly. (Rare)

Many people will disagree and some may give me an earful, but to me it's Barry Bonds. The man is simply the best hitter of all time in my opinion, despite all that cream and clear. I loved watching that man destroy balls.
I don't like the guy, but Bonds had one of the best eyes & discipline the game has ever had.
