I know ppl don’t really use it, but I’ve hit a good number of home runs with just the contact swing. I used it today for a left on left situation and hit a shot with gallo to left field of all places. Try it a few times with power hitters and you’ll be surprised how good it is.

I use it all the time, exclusively with Ozzie Smith even. There's nothing wrong with getting a bloop single.

I use it if I’m behind in the count on my high contact guys.

I haven't either contact swung or power swung in years. Not even exaggerating, I literally never do it.

I use normal swing 99% of the time but when I have a lefty up and my opponent does a matchup move to a lefty pitcher I’ll usually use it to make sure I won’t get burned on an inside fastball or slider away since the coverage is nice

Runner on 3rd, lefty up to bat = RBI.
I even did it when Matthews and it resulted in a deep enough fly ball for a sac fly.

    Small ball...

Yeah, I think with a runner on third and less than two out, it’s almost a no-brainer.

I hit a HR last night with FOTF Santana using contact swing. All I wanted was to get the runner on third home with less than two outs and man was I surprised when he hit it over the right field wall lol

This is the thing that pisses me off about the game. Gallo has a vision of 23...he should not be hitting homeruns with contact swing. It makes no sense how this mediocre player is treated like a god by the game

Well vision shouldn’t matter. He’s a power hitter in the mlb so I don’t get what you’re upset about? When using contact swing, your pci will cover a little more of the zone which helps with his low vision and long swing.

He is a power hitter who can't locate the ball. In the MLB he is average at best. His PCI should be the size of a dime and you should need perfect/perfect for him to even have a hit let alone a homerun. What is the point of even having that stat if the game is never going to use it.

Gallo is the one hitter I’ll use it for and I’ve been rewarded with lots of homeruns but also prolonging the AB longer

I've said it for years, I have not figured out why people are scared to use it. Good 2 strike strategy. And like you said I have hit no doubters with it.

Ok, why does vision matter so much? I know he has horrible vision but that was one just example I gave. I couldn’t tell you the exact number of contact homers With other batters with worse or better stats than gallo has, so maybe my pci placement Is spot on?

Idk why people get soo salty when it comes to anything in this game. Someone writes a post and then it’s almost a guarantee that somebody will come on and complain. Maybe you’re upset because you don’t have good hand and eye coordination in order to make contact with low vision?

There is nothing wrong with people using contact swing at all, but what is really annoying is that using contact swing will literally check your swing nearly all the time if you try to check. That is something that should be fixed in the game.

I cant think of a player with worse vision that gets almost guaranteed homeruns. I know I am average at best at the game but is is redic when players with vision over 100 somehow miss pitches while Gallo hits a 500 ft bomb with a ball on the dirt. I love this game but that will always be the hill I die on, vision needs to be a stat that actually matters

I still think vision is one of the best stats but in this case it doesn’t make much sense. A player could have 0 vision and you could still hit a hr with contact swing since those in game stats are independent from the actual user input. I could use the best hitter in the game and still have an 0for4 game. so vision is negated by user input.

The stats are there for when you make contact with the ball and not miss. Vision to me is a secondary stat. In your gallo example, he hits a 500 foot bomb because he’s a power hitter. When’s the last time you heard someone talking about Ozzie Smith hitting a 500 foot bomb? He has extremely high vision but the big stat he’s missing is power.

I hit a no doubt HR with FOTF Buxton with Contact Swing... Sometimes i feel like its better using Contact Swing with Power Hitters and Power Swing with Contact Hitters is the way to go...

I just started using it last night. I'm an awful batter in RS and have been trying different things just to make contact. It's that bad. Switching to actually using the contact hitting button has helped. I even hit a HR with Eddie Mathews using it.
