Fluctuating pitch speeds in RS (both teams in 800s)

Can I get a second set of eyes on this? I was crushing Hal and chapman hours ago on same difficulty in seasons but this game I literally couldn't do anything. Does it look like the pitches are coming in unusually fast? I need to sleep most likely, but something seemed off.

Happens all the time , maybe connection lag, it can be particularly bad sometimes . My last game against feller was horrible and usually I salvate over him. Felt like legend, made posts about this after facing back to back Oswalt both time in 700 both opponents one game I could swing when ball left hand and couldn’t touch it, but game before I was all over it . Was insanely different
-
I played against Hal this morning and couldn't touch him. Usually I best him before the 3th/4th but that 100mph fastball was clocking 187mph for what I could tell.

Somethings really off.. I'm workin on putting two clips side by side for comparison with hal. I'm a newbie to this editing stuff but I'll update this post once I do

It’s crazy how much faster yours looks than when you watch one of the YouTuber’s videos played on legend. It looks like they’re playing on veteran.

I mean, that pitch you threw with Chapman to Trout was a 94 mph sinker, and Oswalt was hitting 97-98 with his fastball. Maybe you were having a bad day or something or had faced a pitcher throwing in the low 90s in the last game. Also if you have significant input lag with your setup, are using players with low vision, or have trouble with reaction. Bottom line, take a look at yourself and your skill level before you blame the game. Maybe your opponents really were better players than you.

Cmon son. Not about that. Just really felt something was off. I very well am just sleep deprived.. I’m using a hal fb to compare with I’m not blaming the game, I have nothing to prove. I’m trying to see if there’s a legitimate issue with pitch speed variance between games on same level. Not blaming or complaining. This is research for the community. Maybe it’ll turn out I’m just sleep deprived. Hold on I’m almost finished with this side by side

Well, I'm suspecting that actual perceived pitch speeds do increase as you move up the rankings, even within a particular difficulty. For instance, it seems quite a bit harder to hit as I increase my rating in the 800s, including pitch speed, pitch break, and batter vision (I'm talking perhaps in-game slider adjustments depending on player ratings within a division). So I'm not completely refuting what you're saying, but I'd suggest you look further into the issue before suggest any foul play on anyone's behalf. But really, those pitches you showed in comparison to each other weren't actually the speed in mph. You'd need to provide larger sample size before extrapolating it to talk about a larger trend.

Yeah the timing windows are screwy, for sure. I've had games where I couldn't catch up to Ohtani on All Star, but Newhouser on legend was like BP. Pitch speed difference has been around for years online, which leads me to believe it's connection based, but it's so much worse and so much more variable this year.

Again, I’m not calling foul play. I’m just looking to see if we can show sds some footage if it’s convincing enough. I’m working on a couple examples, the first one I just did (81 mph change up and Hals 98 mph fb... You may be surprised at the results) workin on splicing another two pitch clip so we have more of a sample size. Sorry for the delay I’m just finally getting the hang of it. Few more minutes, I gotta put one more together.
-
And again I’m not looking for an excuse. I’m looking to see if there is a coding flaw or some issues with networking that sds could possibly fix and benefit everyone. This has nothing to do with looking for an excuse, you must think I’m one of the many others on this board that want to blame the game for their losses. I outhit that guy in that game, he got a few boppers and I couldn’t hit. I lost and have no hard feelings ab it. I just thought this pitch speed fluctuation should be investigated a bit more closely.

Synchronization, that’s the problem, internet speeds difference. I have 400mbps, and I prefer to play with wifi around 100mbps, it’s more average, less sync problems.

I’m actually curious about this. I have a 300mbps wired connection. I wonder if I would fare better if I switched to wireless and a had a little worse connection.

Ok. I got a few examples. Seems like sleep deprivation definitely played a role but what is really intriguing is Roys change up in the one game compared to hals fb in the other. Again both games HOF RS. Small sample size and will add more if people find this needs additional data collection.
Oswalt 80 mph change and Hal 99mph fastball - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4e_w4S2D_Jw (couldn't figure out how to make this loop)
Oswalt 81 mph change and Hals 98 mph FB - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uet9CztWWVI
Oswalt Hal 98 mph fb - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvYF48ygVx8 (this one... sleep deprivation)
Oswalt 96 sinker and Oswalt 81 change up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uK7ktDlcxlY -

This is definitely a known issue. That 96 MPH sinker up and in the corner of the strike zone was mesmerizing. I could barely even see it let alone hit it

Funny you say this because I don’t remember this being an issue at all last year in 19. Do you remember this at all last year?
-
I'm not saying this isn't a problem btw, but perhaps pitch speed sliders are turned up as difficulty increases? It may be dynamic within a difficulty level as well. But hey, at least this year they mostly got rid of the pause after making contact with the ball (though that didn't really affect gameplay results too much).

Yep, as stated above, I do. Not as often or noticeable as this year, though.

Speed looks fine when you are hitting.
However the speed will always look slow when you are pitching because that's how the game works. Slight delay on pitcher side but to the hitter side everything is full speed, so the games are synced up.

There are games that Hal is unhittable, and games where it looks lift a balloon coming in. I don't understand it. One game I feel like I'm hitting great, and the next there's a hole in my bad. Like, I can't even foul tip a ball I was mashing in the previous game. So the difficulty sliders have either changed drastically or it's ping.
