Perfect perfect flyballs no longer homers????
-
Happened yesterday once... Gavin lux off Kluber so I was like ok whatever.... then now FOTF Juan Soto off Greg Maddux??? Perfect perfect flyball to center... 100mph doesn’t even make it to the warning track....
-
I don't think they were guaranteed to begin with. I think it's just a higher probability if the player has at least 80 power against that handedness pitcher. Could be wrong though...

Soto literally has 100 power....

That whole .800 average on perfect/perfect and guaranteed home run on perfect flyball with 80+ power went away with patch 1.04.

no that would make TOO much sense. Best contact in the game is the early good which is always some how f*****pulled for a homerun. RIDDLE IT TO ME

It felt fine until the latest one honestly, I’d just like to be rewarded for squaring the ball up

It’s still a home run a decent amount of the time with 80+ power, but anything 60 or lower and a perfect flyball is like a guaranteed out.

Sounds like Soto should have had a HR based on their explanation of the 80/60 rule. If I recall correctly, they said in a steam that a perfect perfect fly ball from a player with 80+ power is a guaranteed HR to the pull side and straightaway with a slightly lower probability oppo. 60+ is guaranteed only to pull side.
I could be remembering it wrong

It doesn't make sense because the game doesn't tell us what the word, "early" or "late" for that matter actually means. We have an incomplete definition with no context.

Yeah the perfect/perfect fly ball thing was debunked for me when Oswalt showed his WTP. I thought momentarily that I had gotten my first DD PO HR.... lol?
