Pitching and bunting flaws

SDS, screw hitting. Please fix pitching (accuracy) and guys with no bunting skills laying down perfect bunts every time.

Riddle me this SDS. Guy with 35 bunt rating lays them down perfectly, but a pitcher with 85 control & bb/9 misses the target 70% of the time.

Agreed, starting to face a lot of bunters now online. Really ruins part of this game

Happens to me every game - bunt gets by pitcher on 1st base side and if my 2B gets it - my 1B is not on the bag to receive the throw.

Yep. And when someone does lay down a bunt on the shift, the pitcher has absolutely no reaction time.

I don't know if bunting is 17 bad yet. With all these fast prospect cards though it might get worse

Are they sac bunting or drag bunting?

I hardly have any success sac bunting but do with drag bunts. Sac bunts often turn into DPs or the lead runner gets out.

So you’re saying it’s a realistic thing or game flaw that players are exploiting?

Kind of a double edge sword thing here -

1. the defense auto shifts on way more batters than in real life
2. if you could control the pitches like real life, it would prevent the batters from being able to lay one down every time
3. me personally here - if someone is willing to lay down a bunt with a true pull happy power hitter.... give him the single and pitch the next guy for a double play.

It’s not realistic based on the pitchers reaction. If the pitcher knows the shift is on, he knows he has to react quickly for a bunt. Instead they react slowly and take their sweet time fielding. Lefties are worse, because SDS doesn’t have them turning the proper way to throw. Players are exploiting it.

Most of them are last second lay downs. Drags would or should pull the ball...if we’re talking about non bunting players. Speed guys are different.

I agree with everything you said. Only problem I see are the guys who have a bunt rating of 35 laying them down perfectly. If it happens 10% of the time, that’s fine. Anything over 50% is suspect.

I played a guy last night that i struck out 25 times but got 4 hits off bunts. Perfectly placed L side rollers against the shift, Granderson and Gallo. Thought that was cute

That is cute. Considering Gallo said last year bunting is not easy and takes away from his best asset. But yet, he can bunt with ease in The Show. This is a “C’mon man” moment for SDS.
