But if u are someone who enjoys DD and wants to play offline, its very difficult to upgrade
You would have loved 17 and 18, which locked a bunch of cards behind online-only play, including Hardware Griffey, Immortal Kershaw, Immortal Ted, and more.
It's INFINITELY better than it was for the offliners now.
I had it all the years but obviously this year spending many hours within

I wish SDS would listen to this kind of thing, which gets brought up fairly often — especially to cater to people who can’t always find time to play RS. I don’t have kids, but I am the primary caregiver for a disabled loved one. It is not often that I can say with absolute certainty that I have the next 45 minutes to an hour free to play a game of RS. Last year, I suspect probably a third of my total losses came from having to quit out of a game unexpectedly.
Offline is so much easier on people with hectic lives, but it’s unfortunately clear that SDS looks at offliners as second-class citizens.
"Because DD is an online mode"
There I said it so no one else needs to.
No its online based. If it were an online mode, conquest wouldnt exist.
-
Then what's point in trying March to October, offline mode, to it. Essential everyone should be able to field the team of their dreams whether its offline or online. Grind stats for offline should be brutal as well late in game cycle since they want to promote online features.
-
The first time I played DD was in 2018 & I loved it because I am an “offline player”. I loved it in 2018. In 2019 they changed the entire layout & requirements & I didn’t even play last year. I love the game though, so this year I said screw it. IMO, the best way to even things out is to have the availability to get maybe half or a third of Prestige done offline as well, but still have to play online (RS, BR, Events) to complete Prestige.

yeah, the point being made is that it shouldn't just be an offline mode.

DD is a dual mode
Offline and online
If you only want to participate for what ever reason in offline only that is fine but you will be limited to what is available. Online is the next step as it's the premium service that comes with PS Plus so there will be additional features provide in the online aspect of the mode.
We have been down the everything is attainable offline road before and it almost killed the series. They have a great balance now for both aspect of the mode.
Prestige players is just a fancy calling card to other online players to say I used this guy alot that is all it is. With the exceptions of the odd player the +3 boost is negligible. In fact I never use my prestige players as I think they are worse. An offline prestigable card make zero sense, you get a red diamond on a card because you used it alot offline vs the CPU so only you get to see the red diamond I'm sorry it makes no sense.

While I agree with you that it doesnt make much of a difference, it's hard for many brains to see the +3 and not think "I want this version, it's better than the regular version." Most players want the best version, or they believe they are missing out.

I played online for years but not enjoying it this year so decided to play solely offline. I love stat missions and I love the power up program from MUT. SDS has a great opportunity here to combine those and give playing offline more reason.
Love this idea. I know online people might not like it but it really does not affect them because we play offline. IE You dont need to worry about playing my offlined Prestiged player because I dont play online games.

Was worse in 17, IMO more offline content this year than the past 3 years
In regard to content, yes you’re correct. They gotta figure how to prestige offline though!

As an offline only player I would be fine if they made prestiging players the ONLY perk to playing online. That's the only place those cards would be desirable anyway. My prestiged Posey has pretty much treated me the same in all the offline modes as the non-prestiged one. We simply don't need prestiged cards against the CPU.
Make all cards available to offline players in some capacity and let the online players have the ability to prestige them all via online stats. Simple solution and everyone wins.

What card is locked behind offline play? WS, BR, and Events cards don't count because they are purchasable with stubs. What non-sellable card is only available online besides prestige?
And if you are referencing the above cards, are you saying just remove all online rewards? Because that is what essentially what will happen, if they give any card a way to get it offline, then that's going to be easier than doing online, and then events, BR etc all lose any meaning.
TL:DR, never gonna happen. There are cards locked behind OFFLINE play only, but no cards locked behind online besides prestige.

Yeah I guess I should have clarified that there be a way to earn all cards offline, not just buy them. I realize it won't happen because they have sold out to the online players which is really too bad. They can continue to have rewards but just give those that despise online play for the cesspool that is a way to get them too. Obviously I don't know exactly what that should look like but making all cards earnable shouldn't water down online play for those that enjoy it.

If you made any card available to earn offline, then online mode becomes useless. Why would I try and go 12-0 against real people for a rare card when I can have an easier time against the computer when earning it?
There is no way to do what you propose without watering down online play.
Meanwhile, I have no options but to play offline to get 99 Lou Gehrig or 99 Pearson. I cannot buy them with stubs, I cannot earn them online, they are locked behind offline play. Atleast you can buy any card you don't want to earn online

How have the sold out to the online players because the give them more rewards for competitive play?

Its money. You need a sub. to play online. They are driving revenue. Agreed that they should have an OFFLINE option

Well said. Not everyone can, likes, loves, etc. online. Modes should be equally split between the offline and online player. I can do both, but to me offline seems easier to do and seems to take less time towards my goal. Maybe the rewards should be altered for online versus offline.
Maybe plus 3 stats for offline prestige and +5 or +7 for online prestiges? Like you can do it both ways but online is more rewarding

I play offline and online depending what i am trying to get done in the game. How does playing online to prestige make SDS more money? I do not buy stubs to buy Prestige players off the Market. It does not cost anything to play on line. Stubs are easy to come by without purchasing them. They just want to force people to play online. Not everyone has the time or wants to. They could make it AS or higher plus double the stats.

It doesn't really create more money for SDS, but they are a Sony subsidiary and Sony wants that $60-70 a year for ps+

I would like to option select the amount of innings in an exhibition game. 3 inning conquest games are too short and sometimes 9 inning exhibition games are too long. I'd like the option to play a 5 or 7 inning game.
