Didn’t we get 99 Alomar, Henderson and Verlander in this program last year?
Not hating on Roberts, but not much better than Program 2. Time to start ramping things up, no?

Ya, especially with the FS inflated garbage out there. I was expecting some great rated legends to begin to bury those cards

A little bit further than borderline, but definitely in a group above the rest of those names.
Look at his stats compared to Carter’s and please show me how Carter is in any way close to Murphy though.

I would never say he was. Weird comp...
Murphy was a 2 time, elite fielding MVP. His problem was he had a peak.. and was trash before and after it.
Carter was consistently a secondary player, nothing more...

one guy I think who could deserve to be a boss and is as underrated as Carter is overrated is John Olerud! One of my favorites. Dude had a HOF career, plain and simple.. and gets zero respect.. none

I completely agree.
57.3 fWAR is no easy task.
-
Joe Carter hit a walk off home run in the world series, and batted 3rd for back to back world series winning teams! Don't care his WAR is low because he played below-average defense and didn't have a very good OBP, dude won and deserved to be a boss! Something should be said about being a clutch and winning player vs somebody who has a lot of empty stats.
I love stats and advanced analytics, but Carter was a feared bat on a winning team in his prime.

I would have liked Olerud as a boss as well. You might have to wait a while though. They don’t usually come out with a better card of a collection reward until later in the year

So do people think Brian Roberts is worthy of a 94 rated boss card? That is my original point. I would rather see Chase Utley, Rogers Hornsby, Joe Morgan, Nap Lajoie, Eddie Collins, Lou Whitaker, Jeff Kent, Julio Franco, Bobby Doerr, etc. Players that realistically deserve 94 rated cards.
