I disagree with this. Especially in the lower tiers and difficulties like All-Star. If you play on directional hitting and you have good eye/patience it can be quite beneficial to use it. Not because it's such a great way of hitting, but because the contact area is so big that you can foul off pitches on the corners consistently to keep at bats alive, waiting for that one hung pitch over the middle which will inevitably come because of the horrendous pitching mechanics in this game. And when it's finally there, just press X for moonshots.

I do because I mostly play BR. It's dreadful to play very mediocre players who I know for sure are using directional hitting. Sometimes you just can't get them out and it's really annoying and also really has nothing to do with skill imo.

That's not true, it works anywhere it just becomes more of a dice roll. This masks bad hitters especially if they have a good lineup.

Dude it does not leave the PCI down the middle or make you hit in the direction you point. I don't even use it nor do I know what you're on about right now. Directional is timing + hitting stats/dice rolls + influencing the spin/angle of your swing (the directional part.)

I’ve said this once and I’ll say this again, why do all you guys think you’re playing someone with directional lmao, it doesn’t tell you that. Maybe there just a zone hitter who sucks with placement and fouls a bunch of pitches off

It is easy to demonize directional hitters than just admit that they screwed up

Edit: just lost 3 games using directional, guess it didn’t make me into a hitting god like it apparently does for other people that use it. Who could’ve known?

to the guy who says only if the ball goes down the middle have u played this game it happens 4 or 5 times a game pitching is broken but I do agree directional only works when its down the middle
