Somehow I am 3-1 so far but i think this is gonna be a struggle for me if this will be the standard going forward. I have Singer (only cause I pulled from a free pack yesterday) and Chapman as my only diamond LS cards.
What's everyone else facing so far?
I got 400K stubs that I could use to grab a few to help out but not sure I want to make the investment for two free cards that I doubt make my team other than bench bats at this point.

You know you can just “rent” the live series players for now right? Great return on investment if you sell everything when you are done.

Yeah, I faced an all diamond LS team first game. My opponent spammed high and tight fastballs with deGrom. I expect to see a lot of this type of thing, which is sad because there are lots of good silver and gold LS cards.
I think I have three or four diamonds. I’m 2-0 but it looks like this will be sweaty. It would be great if not every game is at Shippett vs the same hitters.

I mean is it really that big of a deal? Stubs aren't super hard to come across and many diamonds are in the 6-8k range.

That’s not the point. Why does everyone automatically want to use the same diamond cards? It’s not like you can’t win without them.

I’m currently 4-1 in the event and only have Springer, Rendon, Buehler, and Aroldis Chapman as diamonds. It certainly helps to have an all diamond team but I don’t think it’s necessary for the event. There are a bunch of great hitting gold players that lack on the defensive side, but in a three inning game I don’t think defense matters all that much.

I would not waste the stubs on the event. LS Soler, Mondesi, Schwarber and Moncada are all very good Silvers. You can have a very good budget squad and do well

Yea there’s no casuals that play this game. It’s the reason they have to give up licensing exclusives because the devs don’t know how to keep casuals on the game.
I mean they just dropped an event that takes 7 wins a day to get any decent reward. To hardcore players that’s like alright. To a casual they’re like nah I’m gonna go play fortnite.

@Untchable704 Exactly. Yes I'm a competitive player but the amount of games their asking for for this cards are ridiculous. We shouldn't have to play [censored] near 40-to 60 games to get these cards who aren't even worth that grind. I could see if it were 99s but the cards they gave aren't worth the win amounts.

Under event information, it says this is the “first of many live series events”
You aren’t meant to get all 50 wins in the very first one, but the option is available for those that can do it.

So far every opponent i faved had trout bellinger Yellich 450 k in stubs right there lol

I have all the Live series (NMS) except the big 6 or 7, because I play the game with the goal to collect cards. Should I not use the diamonds I have? The live series diamonds are also my RS players because I find the live series quirks give an unknown boost.

A couple days ago you could get quite a few diamonds for cheap. I got story, buehler, and strasburg for 7k each, Chapman for 24, and judge for 12600. Their prices all went up after the event of course. You could have fielded an all diamond team for half your 400k stubs and maybe even have turned a profit.
