Are you being patient or free swinging? Patience in this game is an absolute must. Where do you keep your PCI?
I am walking two to three times a game. My strategy is to drive up pitch count and get into bullpens because most people ignore those.
But I take pitches and suddenly I’m down 0-2 to two up and in fastballs, I take a slider away, a change up low, then strike out swinging on a high fastball in the zone

My tv is in game mode. I’m not sure what the response time or Input lag is, but it has been fine the past couple of years for this game. In fact, it’s an older tv I use specifically for gaming because the lag is almost non existent

My suggestion would be if you’re having trouble on those up fastballs sit PCI up and really wait for the FB. I know it’s so tempting to chase the slower pitches low in the zone but maybe for a game or two just be super disciplined and only sit on the fastball. Also, definitely check to see if your tv is in game mode

Maybe change your hitting approach? You’re striking out a bunch anyway, it sounds like. Why not just look for those up and in fastballs early in the count? You’re just putting yourself in an 0-2 count anyway trying to take pitches. What could it hurt?

Tried this. A lot of good okay and good good ground outs. I’ve always wondered if this game penalizes you for swinging at the first pitch unless you have that specific quirk

I’m assuming we’re talking about online play, right?
I think it’s kind of pick your poison. Sure, sometimes I swing early in the count, square something up, and get a good/ok good/good out. Is this better than taking two strikes down the middle?
I guess ultimately, it’s just the amount of good swings we put on the ball that determines the outcome. Sooner or later, a good swing will fall for a hit.
Personally, I can’t force myself to play online when I’m frustrated with the game. Like the other day I faced a guy named Big Daddy something with the hot pink uniforms. I got two outs and then an error by my third baseman and a couple of jam shots that fell and next thing you know Im down 0-5 before I even hit. My first three batters were all well hit for outs.
I just quit because I knew it was not going to be fun or get better.
Maybe watch Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan or something?

I was late on anything over like 94...I thought for sure it was some sort of connection issue because while I haven’t been an amazing hitter, I’ve never been this bad...
I went into practice and messed around with cameras and realized that using Zoom seems to be what was killing me. Very small sample size so far, but played much better in a couple event games and messing around against the CPU I was actually early on Ohtani’s fastballs on legendary mode.
I’m timing the fastball much better with the camera pulled back. -
You should try bunting more!

This may sound obvious, but make sure you are watching the pitcher’s hand. I got into this strange habit of watching the pitcher’s leg movement and the landing foot and then I was picking the ball up too late or not at all.
It’s probably just a focus thing. Watch the ball come out of the pitcher’s hand.

Buy a bunch of speed guys and bunt your way on. Just add some power guys for the bench and you’ll get some runs.

Please do not bunt more. Bunting is a bandaid solution and will not help you in the long term.

i was 9-22 online when playing on my tv. got myself a monitror and now i am 27-33. didnt play the game much the last 2 years and i wasnt ever that good. but a monitor helped a lot even tho my tv is on game mode

Update.
Deleted the game. Bought OOTP 21. Fun as hell. Love perfect team. That cleared my head. Re downloaded the show and jumped into the event. I am 3-1 so far and getting hits. Now it’s in events on all star against low diamonds and gold, but I’ll take it

Ugh, just tried some ranked season after taking the weekend off That was a mistake. Don’t know why I thought it would change from all 102mph fastballs and 1-0 games. This game is getting harder and harder to play online anymore, and then if you don’t play, you fall behind.
