How do you do in the other modes? Is the struggle specific to Showdown? I also wish there was some adjustment they could make so it’s wasn't quite so “all or nothing.” I like the idea of paying another entry fee but starting again at the final boss.
Thank you... yes... it is specific to Showdown. I have a 46-48 RS record, complete all the moments and no trouble at least competing and completing everything else. I’m not asking for it to be super easy but just for something to be done to help players that struggle like the MANY on here say they do with Showdowns.
I’m tired of every time you post something you have some [censored] tell you to get better, it’s not a game for you to play, how simple it was for them, etc... THIS IS NOT THE POST FOR YOU THEN!
Please, be helpful or screw off and go be better than everyone else and brag elsewhere!
The problem is, if they make it easier, they will nerf the rewards and xp you get bc you can blaze through it if you are decent. Maybe they should make a rebuy in at the bosses or see the an easier difficulty with less rewards 3 TA instead of 5....
I have the opposite as you . I can smack the cpu around, but have problems in online play, I don’t know why. Either I guess pitches too much or I just let it get in my head. My record isn’t awful, but I lose to guys I should beat all the time because my hitting disappears. Maybe if SDS made it easier so I could waltz into WS like some of y’all want to in showdown it would be better. Lol jk

Maybe some sort of compromise would be you get at least one team affinity voucher if you complete 3 missions or something. Defeat the first mini boss it's another voucher. That way people who struggle can still earn something out of it and people who don't struggle aren't really affected
I think this would be the best idea. It would give people who struggle some value for their time, even if they cant beat the final boss. It would give the elitist "get gud" kids a chance to boast that they can do it in half the time and down 2-15.
They did the same thing this year with MTO with splitting points at the different stages. No one wanted to play that to lose in the W.S. and not get anything for their time.

For me, I'm decent at Moments like the player program ones. I cruise through conquest fairly easily. I've had a decent record in online play the past two years. I don't play a ton online because I enjoy the grind and there has been A LOT to grind offline this year. But these Stage 1 showdowns are a pain. I dont even mind the pay to enter because you make back your stubs and get XP. But I'm playing showdown for one purpose, affinity vouchers. And it's all or nothing. And it's nothing all too often.

Agreed on all. Don’t mind paying stubs or the grind... it’s just too much [censored] time spent failing the major majority of the time. I have spent hour and hours a day and have not completed the 3rd inning nor any of the level 1 divisional’s (except NL East 1 time). Same luck with the 1st and 2nd inning Showdowns, I got lucky and was stacked and a lot less runs to get cause of earlier success during the challenge. I have never been able to repeat any of that since. It’s almost like something changed after the 2nd inning to me.

The game should be at a level that EVERYONE can play having some sort of chance at success. Not just the ones who think they can put people down that may not be as great as they are!I'll address this part specifically. Everyone has some sort of chance to complete a Showdown. A user's skill is going to be the biggest factor in whether you succeed or not. The odds aren't predetermined, it's up to the individual to perform.
Just like every other playable mode in DD Showdown is not a guaranteed win. You do have to pay to play the mode, with the ability to earn back your stubs or at the very least earn some XP while playing it. The allure is there for program points and TA vouchers sure, but those are the reasons the mode is not just a given thing.
I would be happy to share tips about the inning Showdowns, TA1, or TA2 but I feel like you'll just attack me for being an an elitist.
The bottom line is the mode is an option, not a requirement. If you choose to play it by prepared to employ a different game strategy. It's stressful because it's not like moments that are easily attempted again. I catch myself doing it all the time, getting frustrated and making poor decisions or inputs.
Share em with me man!
I’m not proud....I’ll take the help. I’m burned out on MtO so this could be a good alternative!

Ever think that maybe this game isn't for you. Instead of asking them to make showdowns into a snoozefest, maybe you should put in a lot more practice.
I put in plenty of practice. That’s not the point. There is no need for your sarcastic remarks. Not asking them to make it a “snoozefest”! You have your experience and I have mine. Just because your awesome and want everyone to know don’t hijack the thread with your nonsense.
You ever think you are useless to the conversation not meant for your highness? Get a life! The game should be at a level that EVERYONE can play having some sort of chance at success. Not just the ones who think they can put people down that may not be as great as they are!
Oh, but I'm not that good. I'm just sick of everything being dumbed down, so people can feel good about themselves. You obviously totally suck at this game, and that's alright. Not everyone can be good at something; some aren't good at anything. I am tired of seeing participation trophies. If you're not good, then own it. Don't ask standards to be lowered, so you're not bottom rung. I see this [censored] all the time in schools.

Bruce Sutter owned me so bad this morning at the first 3rd inning showdown stage that I started to laugh at how incredibly unhittable his splitter is. Oh well.
-
Just finished another AL showdown. First, barely got through Kluber as the 2nd boss. Screwed up the final 2 blue missions and went in down 15-8. Scored 1 after 9 outs. Ended up hitting a walkoff HR with 1 out remaining.
Just needed to relax and swing at better pitches. Once you start gripping, it usually goes downhill.
-
I just lost two straight AL West, one at Hendriks (third loss in a row at him) and then the second against Ohtani with the winning run on.
I went back to a Stage 2 one I had half done and was waiting until I could use the vouchers again. It’s ridiculous the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2 (and prefer stage 2).

Its definitely tough, I've only beat it a couple times and I've tried A LOT but its supposed to be a challenge and eventide I lose i know what I did wrong. I usually get inpatient and swing at a first pitch or swing 3-0 into an out but I learn from that and take it into the next one. You can definitely get better, just keep trying but if you can't learn from your mistakes you don't deserve the rewards. Its also not like you don't get anything, you're getting xp, stubs and silver packs/show packs along the way even if you fail the final showdown. Not everyone should be able to beat everything, there needs to be things that divide the better players from the rest and this is coming from someone who's part of "the rest" group

I'm about as average as it gets but they have started making these easier for us lower level folks.
1st inning took me 10-15 attempts to beat it.
2nd inning took me 3 attempts to beat it.
3rd inning took me 2 attempts to beat it.Stage 1 showdown are difficult but still doable with good drafting, patience, and some luck for us average players.
Stage 2 showdown is more than doable IMO although I freely admit I cant take as many pitches vs the bosses since they tend to throw more pitches in the zone on veteran.
I also find having some familiarity with the pitchers you face helps. For example, Adonis Medina typically throws a lot of offspeed low in the zone.
And sinkers. He does not throw hardly anything in the upper quadrants.

RS and BR are there to “divide the better players from the rest.” An offline mode is about acquiring things. If I play online, I know I’ve got to lock in and focus. To me, offline modes like showdown and moments shouldn’t be this sweaty, pressure-packed grind. I play offline to have fun, accomplish things and get cool cards. I play online when I want to be challenged and Have to be locked in.

There are plenty of offline moments to quench your offline thirst for fun. Conquest, moments, lots of player programs. But personal preference shouldn’t decide how a game mode is. Just because you want it to be easy shouldn’t make it easy. Just like how I feel something isn’t fun unless it’s challenging. I don’t have fun if I don’t feel proud to have beat it. But that’s my opinion as well. Facts are it is what it is.
