I’ve lost faith in this company and product. I was so busy not being able to touch the ball for weeks on end because my display settings were messed up that I only saw half the issues with the gameplay. Now I can get the bat on the ball, even more flaws have become apparent. I was only seeing how bad fielding and pitching were when I couldn’t make contact with the ball. Now I see how terrible hitting is this year as well. Oof.

Absolutely don't want any mic chat, and the home run banner thing is whatever, it should be fixed but its not a hill to die on.
Agree on everything else though.

The HR banner will disappear every time if you let the player cross the plate and exchange high-five with his teammate.

Bunt cheese is not back. People just get upset when their extreme shift gets beat or they show zero respect to a high speed player... The way it should be.

Mic chat is fine as long there’s an option to mute the opposing player at any time. I don’t mind a bit of game talk, but I’m definitely not a fan of listening to someone’s kids scream, listening to them play distorted music at full volume, or hear snotty kids talk nonsense mid game. Could be a fun addition in the right circumstances though.

100% no mic chat... No way... You can always do a party with friends. The messages begging for wins and walks is already bad enough plus the occasional [censored]. I only keep my messaging on so i can mess with the people and send it to friends to laugh at.

Im thinking they could add this option in friendly games and maybe leave it there

What is Stealing Cheese?

What is Stealing Cheese?
Probably similar to bunt cheese. We say “cheese” because it’s nigh on impossible to defend against, even when all possible steps are taken to thwart the opponent. I faced a guy who likes to bunt (shocking!) and his Vidal Brujan card went 5-5 with 5 bunt singles, despite the fact I enabled bunt defense and threw a pitch that was hard to get down. Just couldn’t defend against it, even using every tool in the box.
In a similar fashion, we have 99/99 speed steal guys who you simply cannot throw out. It’s either a bad tag animation at second base (defender uses the sweeping tag move instead of a more logical glove down manoeuvre) or just can’t get the ball there in time. When an opponent exploits a broken game mechanic repeatedly to gain an advantage, we call that “cheese”.
-
I also had the pleasure of facing another opponent who enjoyed the bunt game. Just as an indicator of how much of an exploit bunting is, he opted to lay it down with 99 prestige Mantle, 2 outs, runner at third. Ultimately, he was, of course, successful in his endeavour. Partly because you don’t expect a bunt with the best hitting card in the game in that situation and partly because it’s unlikely you defend against a well timed bunt this year in any case. The mere fact that people opt to bunt in this situation because they know it has a higher success rate than swinging with a card like 99 prestige Mantle is sickening to me, personally. This game is beyond words at times.

I’ve actually found that it’s near impossible to steal, at least online. The opponent gets a perfect bar nearly every time. I could have a 1 step lead with a 95 speed guy like Brujan and I’ll still get thrown out because of the perfect throw.
I don’t really consider the bunting cheese either. I haven’t had much of an issue with it. If a guy is showing consistently that he wants to bunt then I’ll just do bunt defense like you said. That usually prevents them from doing it.

I’m curious about how many bug reports/bad feedback they got during the first 3 days to warrant such a drastic change in the gameplay.
I doubt it was bug reports that made them change hitting. It was the top players batting .500. The hitting was changed to quick though and didn’t take into account that everyone was playing on all star and really good players against bad or newer players. Hitting felt good and took months to get it there, only to be changed with minimal testing and good/okay center pci swings are the norm now.
All the haters say the same things with no evidence to back it up...let it go and understand that you are wrong

I have thrown out many 99/99 players stealing...you have to have good catchers and good 2nd/SS player. Also it is easy to deal with bunt players...throw the ball high and it will be a popup 99% of the time

Well, [censored] me for using 99 Posey I guess. Who is a decent catcher?

Hell anyone...if you can't throw out anyone with Posey that sounds like a you problem. I have mediocre Posada as catcher but have Sandberg as 2nd so I have no problem throwing people out

Well, That’s extremely good to know, as I have Sandburg at second as well. I’m going to go and try and fix this “me problem” that’s just user error by upgrading my second baseman and catcher as suggested and trying to do better than making a prefect throw as fast as I possibly can. I’m betting you probably have solutions for good/okay, fielders not catching balls near walls and so on as well?
