I'm not an expert on monitors or anything but its my understanding that there is virtually no noticeable difference between 4ms and 1ms, so that one should be fine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I just bought a 1 ms monitor. Your average hd tv is gonna be around 10 ms unless it’s really fancy and new. I just figured if I’m going to buy a monitor I was going to get a 1ms or not get one at all. So that would be right between a tv and 1ms it’s really all up too how much detail and delay your going for.

Some will say there’s no noticeable difference, but then some will say there is. Check out Rtings, display ninja, or display lags websites if you haven’t. Rtings really goes into detail with everything.

You want to be looking at input lag, not response time.

Appreciate all the responses and input. And thanks for the clarification on input lag. After researching quite a bit more, I'm having trouble finding anything with the input lag for that model but should help guide my search. Thanks!

Just stop talking as you are way off base.

Yeah that is basically what I'm weighing. Is it worth getting a nice enough monitor that may or may not be able to keep up with a PS5 or just spend a little more and get a nice new TV with game mode that would be an upgrade over my current setup and a lot more functional than a monitor, albeit with a little higher input lag.

How much are you trying to spend? If the budget is under $350 don’t buy a 4k monitor. You won’t get a good one for that price and you’d be better off buying a tcl 43S525 4k tv. I use one and that tv is perfectly fine for the show plus it’s under $300 brand new and you’ll get a way bigger screen then with a monitor

I’d definitely check Rtings before you do anything, LGs are actually very good when paired with a PS4 but that one is a bit older. Other Monitors or TVs are much better on PCs or higher quality devices like the PS5 will be but the PS4 runs at 60hz which is basically LGs quickest setting on devices. My LG monitor has under 10ms input lag at 60hz which is very low and hard to upgrade.

You should be able to check the back of your TV and search the funky code on Rtings. Then look for input lag not response time. Then look for Input lag at 60hz (PS4) and input lag at 4K. Some are good at one or the other, some run quickly on both.

They literally have sections for best PS4 monitors, TVs, cheapest, quickest, everything is there.
