Of course they took that away. Now its just another mindless grind, nobody enjoys.
SDS wants you to buy stubs and spend them on the market for TA Exchanges... thats why they took it away.
But hey... lets keep Fielding a hot mess and pitching and hitting a rng fest...while youre not wrong, you sound fun at parties....
Ok and this statement makes no sense
It does and was completely appropriate.
It was appropriate to tell him He's right..and mock him in the same sentence...yeah that makes sense

I thought we got double affinity points on purpose because it was what they wanted. I have seven March Octobers going right now and it's all I've played the last couple of days and now I'm not going to play it for another second.
Did it say the double points when you checked under MTO in team affinity, or did it still say the normal amount?
-
If it was on purpose it would have been stated somewhere before TA2 hit.
-
While I'm not upset that they patched it, I do think they should look at the data and strongly think about making the double affinity a permanent thing (or maybe a weekend bonus or something). I bet if you looked at the numbers, more people played MTO this week than ever before. I saw way more streamers playing it, and I sure played a ton. It gives the game some nice variety to have a ton of different options.
Another thing to think about: when new players pick this game up in the summer they are going to be so far behind in the TA grind they might just ignore it all together. Making it so an MTO run on All-Star or below can at least get you past stage one TA will make more people play MTO and more people (especially new players) care about grinding TA.

The only people who are going to miss the double points were the ones taking advantage of it. And I can almost guarantee that those who were taking advantage of it played the mode a lot more in the past week because they knew that it would get fixed.
Most players, those who don't visit forums every day, probably did not even realize that there was double XP in the mode for a week.
What was the retro xp?

It was a bug people were exploiting, of course they were going to patch it.
How did anyone exploit mto just by playing the mode? Your comment makes no sense.
Did you start playing it a lot more when you found out it was giving out double xp? Are you upset that its no longer giving out double xp?
If so, you were taking advantage of a bug in a mode you probably wouldn't care about otherwise. So you can cry about terminology, but in the end its the same thing
First off it didn't give double exp. Honestly your comments are so full of ignorance and misinformation I will just stop reading and replying.

Agree with you. Beyond the data about how much modes are being played, I think it would be fair to increase the points to put it more in line with Showdown, or at least bridge the gap. If it takes, say, 6.5 hours hours to complete MTO on veteran (I use veteran because it's comparable to a majority of Showdown moments). That's 54 TA points max over 6.5 hours assuming you max out your rewards.
With showdown, you're looking at 1.5 hours per stage 1 showdown (I'd say an hour for stage 2). That means you could potentially earn 80 points with 30 min to spare or a failed attempt accounted for. Plus I'd say you'd earn more XP in showdown, plus packs.
No problem with them removing double points for now and not saying double MTO points is the answer, but I wouldn't mind them looking at trying to bridge the gap, even if they increased it by 50%. Just gives people an incentive to play a different mode if they choose.

I honestly didn't even know this. I always do M2O on Veteran cause I suck and planned on doing most teams twice.
-
I'm perfectly OK with SDS fixing the MTO points awarded. What I'd much rather have is a better way to get Team Affinity for using my DD card collection, since the innings grind might as well not exist. It's painfully slow unless we compromise our lineups with lots of cards from the same team, and just about no one wants to do that. We've got other cards we want to use.
-
lol no they didn't. You could get to (or dang near) 70 with an M2O run on All-Star. That's more than fair
BUT if SDS wanted to capitalize on this, they could make "double MTO Weekend" events to push players into playing the mode

They should add a 5* mission that requires beating X team on X difficulty (Maybe Hall of Fame). That would be a fair addition

Excellent post.
I bet what happened has given them this exact idea - but if a patch is the way to change the XP earned them they will have to overhaul the way XP is done to make it something that can be switched on and off at their end without having to download a patch. Either that or plan the dates in advance and push them through in a patch earlier on so that the game knows when to assign different amounts of XP.
Rockstar does this kind of thing all the time, I’m sure other games do too.
