Legitimate Question About Analog Pitching

Preach brother preach. Analog pitching has been the worst this year. Been considering changing to meter maybe???
If you are having issues with analog, I can assure you that meter and pulse if no different. I had one pitch I put a foot outside to a RH batter, barely (and I mean the slice of a hair) missed the mark and the pitch went 2 ft inside almost hitting the batter. Countless good meter and pulse releases I put in the zone that completely went out. Along with good releases on 0-2 that went right over the middle.
-
Yeah, I only fully switched to analog this year, but as I just said in another thread, you used to be able to control your misses by being early or late. That has been randomized this year.
-
Maybe it's me, but I switched to analog last year because to me meter was equivalent of directional hitting but the more I think about it, the only real difference is that you use the analog stick instead of pushing buttons.
-
The OP needs to get a BenQ Zowie monitor, that will fix all his problems.
-
Does anyone ever have this issue where you have say for example a righty pitcher and youre facing a lefty hitter. And youre trying to bury a slider under his hands, so you pull back on this stick and aim up to the right. Granted I know I don't always hit it perfectly, but sometimes the feedback window tells me I pushed up to the left? Now I am not asking the game to make the pitching meter easy to hit, but why on god's green earth does it show me pushing up to the left when I know for a fact that I would be pushing up to the right. Is there some sort of method to this that I should be utilizing?
Like for example, when analog pitching should i be pulling straight down and then trying to go straight up and at the last minute hit the circle like an upward curved arrow? should i be pulling straight down and then pushing straight up to the circle, or should i be pulling down in the opposite direction of the red circle and creating two straight lines back and forth to the red circle? Because maybe i am just doing it wrong.

I couldn't disagree more. This year, more than ever, I've been able to release the ball a touch late - deliberately - to get more rotations and thus sharper bite on breaking pitches. For fastballs and the like, holding on too long can cause issues, but I've found the control of pitching this year to be the best that it has ever been, which is saying a lot since it's been brilliant for years.

Well I’m glad you’re getting good results. My point was there is no consistency to how the timing/miss impacts the result of the pitch.
You yourself said holding on too long can cause issues. But what kind of issues? We can’t say what will happen except that it will be bad.
In past years you knew if you were late on release, the pitch would be lower than your target (and vice versa). Now all we know is that it will be a miss.

Didn't you say you blocked me?, of course you won't block me cause that weak sauce personality of yours need to see what BS I call you out on. And I'm not a child, I'm 41, I'm a man!.

Oh, Josh, Josh, Josh, ,Josh. I only unblocked you because someone, somewhere else, told me you posted something beyond stupid and I had to check for myself. Be sure, I will be putting you back on the block list straight after this.
Are you on the spectrum? Serious question. I've mentioned to others that I thought you are because of your complete lack understanding of tone in posts, lack of understanding of social norms and the fact that you believe anything you say, people want to hear, or in this case, read.
I mean, what person types "I'm 41. I'm a man!" That is quite possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen typed on here to justify a person's opinion.
If you are not on the spectrum, you are just simply a gormless, shmegma ridden git, with no life and a desperate need for attention. If it is the latter, I would suggest that you seek out therapy sooner rather than later and take some time off the forum to reflect on why people just don't like you.
Either way, take care and look after yourself. I think you need to.

I'm sorry, but again I very strongly disagree with the statements you're making.
One of my pet peeves in complaints about The Show is the claim that there's randomness in the results of certain actions, that the player has no real control... thus absolving them of any responsibility for unfavorable results, naturally.
If you hold on to a non-breaking pitch for too long, generally the ball continues along the line of momentum imparted by the motion of the pitcher's arm, doing so more than it should if it had been released properly. For fastballs which were aimed in the upper portions of the strike zone, holding on too long results in a lot of flat pitches which are in the heart of the strike zone, yielding bad results for the pitcher.
One thing which I think most people are forgetting is that the delivery type selected is not merely cosmetic as most skinnable items/behaviors are in most games. With any pitcher, any delivery type, it takes some time to master the optimal release points for various angles, pitches, etc.
The results aren't random. The results are affected by many factors which vary from pitcher to pitcher.

The type of person who has seen a priceless rant by a prominent coach in college football, that's who.

I don’t know man. I think you’re overthinking it. You’re telling me that I have to study the mechanics of every pitcher I use in the game to predict how I’m going to miss? I don’t think so. Seems pretty random to me.

No, I'm not suggesting that you memorize the idiosyncrasies of every pitcher in the game. What I am saying is that factors like release point, arm angle, etc... all matter, precisely because the realism is so good in this game, particularly in the physics of ball movement.
If you release the ball at the optimal time according to the meter, your results will be pretty good. If you learn the various idiosyncrasies of pitched balls from differential values of various categories - not of specific pitchers, but ranges of pitchers who have similar mechanics - your results will improve... dramatically so, once you get really comfortable with a particular set of mechanics and skills.
-
Well. That may be so, but you are the first person to suggest anything like that. In previous years, it was understood that early would miss up and late would miss down.
How do you explain the good releases that also miss?

Can someone who knows how analog pitching works comment on this please?

You aim for the target at same time pushing up,at the release line, timing is very small, which is why when you push toward one side of plate and ball goes straight up- it's cause you missed the timing window, they were smaller last year and even smaller windows this year
