Just played my first game of RS on hall of fame and Holy $-/t how does anyone catch up to fastballs? This is absolutely ridiculous. The timing window is terrible. I don’t think it was this hard to catch up last year. How is anyone having success beyond 700? Maybe it’s just Newhouser? But my opponent had a difficult time hitting Kluber too... Combined 24 strikeouts. How are people hitting?! Events on the other hand seems 1000x easier to hit. Sorry fellas for the rant just amazed at the quality of excellence this game is lol.

I use a monitor, wired connection and I’ve played DD since ‘16. I usually make WS every month since the end of ‘17, although it takes me plenty of games to do so. I can’t touch the ball on HoF. Last season, I played two games on HoF back to back. The first went 15 innings because nobody could touch the ball. It eventually ended 1-0 after a combined 46 strikeouts. The very next game went 17 innings and ended 2-1 after I threw my controller at the wall and gave up. We combined for 45 strikeouts that game. Since then, I’ve stopped playing on HoF. I play to 700 and just stop. If I want to play nine inning baseball with my DD team I have to quit until I’m back to all star, or hope to get matched with someone below 700, because the game is barely playable at that level to me. It’s so boring flailing around and not making contact with the ball, while watching your opponent do the same, until an error, late jammed hit or fluke home run finally decides the outcome, that I’ve just quit playing the game on HoF entirely. I feel really sorry for any new players this year who use a TV, because I have a fair bit of experience with DD and I absolutely hate the gameplay personally.

[censored], that’s rough. I was really trying to push for World Series but hearing this is discouraging.

Just keep putting in work man, I usually make world series every time but missed it this year the first go around. I feel like I've adjusted now, took me a lot of games.

Broken game can’t be fixed by just playing more. Not sure why people continue to make excuses for this garbage.

HOF and above is designed for the select few who enjoyed facing Absolute Virtue in FF XI.

I think a lot of my issues are down to bad connections. From speaking to a few friends who play the show, while they agree HoF is tough this year, especially with everyone throwing 102mph or having glitched pitcher wind ups like the Ohtani, they don’t share my experience of the game being unplayable. My batting average isn’t massively down on previous years either, although it’s early days yet, but I still absolutely feel like I have no chance on HoF and anyone can just spam sinkers and fastballs for nine straight innings while I strike out and fail to make contact. I might go back and try it again later on this month, but after those two games I mentioned in my previous post, I honestly never wanted to experience that kind of game again, to the point I simply haven’t tried much once I get to 700-750 in ranked. When I played HoF previously I didn’t get the vibe that if I zone up and focus I can get the timing down and succeed at that level. I just thought wow what the hell is this broken [censored], pretty much as you said in your OP. The couple of times I did try the old focus and get the job done mentality, I just struck out 15-20 times per nine inning game and just felt totally out of control and handcuffed at the plate, like I had zero chance at making contact. That’s what led me to quit trying. Maybe now I have a slightly better team with higher contact and vision, I’ll have better results, but I doubt it unless SDS have been tweaking it in the background unannounced since I last played at that level.
